Hanzo and the sanin

I saw a thread about this a while ago, my comment was that the way they obtained the name Sannin was embarrasing (losing 3 on 1) but the name has been given weight by what the 3 of them did later on. They gave worth to the name rather than the name giving worth to them

It's even said in the Jiraiya arch. They became famous, being called Sannin for the battles they fought and won, not because of facing Hanzo.

Unless you know Hanzo truth strength, which we haven't seen, than this thread is pointless.As for Hanzo name not being on anyone's list, read the previous sentence.How many list have you seen Sakumo Hatake "The White Fang" who was said to be as strong as the Sannin? The answer is none, because we don't know anything about Sakumo Hatake, like we don't know anything, well maybe a little, about Hanzo..

That's irrelevant. For example, we never actually really saw Hashirama Senju in battle but we all knew he was one of the great ninja's ever and is on many people's top 10 list. That's because we know how powerful he was by reputation and promotion in the manga itself...Same should be for both Hanzo and the person you brought up, The White Fang. Because we all know how powerful the Sannin are, and we know its been a stated fact that White Fang was as strong as any of them, then any list that has Oro & Jiraiya on it should include him on it not too far by default. Now for Hanzo, we also know for a fact that he was greater than all 39Oro, Jir, Tsn) together so also by default he should be on every list either of their names are Hanzo should be right there with them. Either above or just below.

As for the fight between Hanzo and the sannin, the sannin were all young when they fought Hanzo.Furthermore, we have seen all the sannin power and know base on what we have seen that the sannin are all extremely strong and skilled.

You make it sound like they were still kids. They were atleast in their twenties. They were grown adults, and jounins at that so you're talking about very powerful, experienced and strong leaders.

Three jonin versus a Kage level shinobi.So you are saying if Kakashi, Gai, and Asuma were all able to survive a fight with the Third Raikage they don't deserve and credit when other shinobi might have died?

Kage isn't a level, just like Sannin isn't a level. It's a title. Yes it means you're one of the mot powerful in your respective village, but there could always be a jounin out there that could be more powerful than their kage, or in Naruto's case genin, Had it perhaps been any other kage they probably would have either won or fought to a draw. I mean, if Kakashi, Gai & Asuma fought Gaara we'd expect them to come out on top

Hanzo is definitely top 20, possibly top 10. He got defeated by the 6 paths of pain true, but he was nowhere near his prime. he took on the 3 sannin and basically won, although they probably weren't as strong at the time.

I have never seen Hanzo's name on any list of strongest ninjas in Naruto.
