Is Naruto weak without nine tails?

It would certainly be interesting to see what kind of person and ninja he would have been with his parents around. Wow now that i think about it, tobi has really shaped the ninja world significantly eg. Narutos parents death, naruto becoming junchuriki, Nagatos story, uchihas being discriminated which eventually lead to itachi needing to kill them and many more but thats a different thread.

He will obviously still have SM. But I'm not sure how strong he would really be. According to Naruto after Sasuke beat Danzo and Naruto clashed with Sasuke's chidori and read Sasuke's "Mind or Heart" Naruto came to the conclusion that he would not be able to defeat Sasuke at the current stage he was at. These are his own words. He will still be kage level though. I hate the fact he has to rely on the 9tails chakara though. I rather him just have a hell of alot of techs then just using the KM/BM only to be nothing but super speed and super power.

but before he had mastered senjutsu then w/o the power of Kurama he wasn't even an average ninja

the only reason I can see this even being a discussion is because SM has taken a back seat to biju mode...making senjutsu irrelevant in comparison...but let's not forget he is a sage

I think people are forgetting how naruto uses his Rasengan. He uses clones that to the normal person would seriously hamper his chakra. Since it's the only thing the boy knows how to use, he's pretty useless without the fox. Sage mode was learnt like everything else: using clones. Again, the boy would be pretty useless. As we've seen time and time again, Naruto has always been a bad student and incapable of doing anything without clones. My answer, yes.

Naruto has a large volume of chakra by default, even taking away the fox he still has enough chakra to make hundreds of clonz, in one instance I've heard that he'd have even more chakra reserves had he not the need to suppress the foxes chakra with his own, and sm would be easier as seeing he could fuse with ma and pa, he's still better than roughly 85% of the cast with his reserves and SM alone

Wasting chakra on clones is still a bad idea. He'd need to step up his game if he wanted to be a good ninja. Lee, neji, and even Sakura would trash his ass ten times over. He'd not have mastered Sage mode in a matter of days but instead years like Jiraya, and whomever else. Cheating ass. U_U
