the fourth would win but dont you think that he can amatersu him or when he use's susanoo will he be able to catch him with a kunai to get to where itachi is?
is uchiha itachi on par with namikaze minato?

we havent seen fourth at full power !! we havent seen his jutsu's ... it was like a flashbak !! i am betting on MINATO NAMIKAZE !

we only know minto has 3 technques that we know about. still without not giveing away his other jutsus remains enigmatic jutsu wise. itachi speed wise was no slouch kakashi even said his hand sealing speed was so fast even with his sharingan couldn't follow it. it would be a awesome fight notherless both could claim victory depending on the circumstances .

I have to say it would be an awesome battle. But Minato would come out on top. Itachi could catch him in a genjutsu but for a genius fighter like Minato who has absolute control of his chakra (he created Rasengan, sure others have picked it up but that's like tracing the Mona Lisa, it's not as impressive) it would only really be a detriment, not a deciding factor. Now Itachi was no slouch, as stated before. Orochimaru even feared him and that's saying quite a bit.
But the big thing is that Minato Namikaze not only held the title of Hokage, he faced the Nine-Tailed fox down by himself. He couldn't defeat it but he held his own until he could use the death seal. To put this into perspective, Itachi used the MS 2 or 3 times and ran from a 2v1 fight with Jiraiya. Jiraiya was nearly killed by a 4 tailed naruto/kyuubi.
So... Yondaime vs. full power 9 tailed fox= draw
Jiraiya vs. 4 tailed naruto= 4 tailed naruto
Itachi at less than full chakra (2 MS I think) and Kisame vs. Jiraiya= Itachi retreating
Now I'm not saying they couldn't have beat Jiraiya, I'm just saying that it shows the difference in power between the Shinobis in question.
So I'm going to say a resounding "Yondaime".

the point i am making is that ... MINATO IS GOOD THEN WE HAV SEEN !!. the point i said that we havent seen him in full action means .. he is so look so gud in few pages ... so think if he had a fight with MADARA ... !! a full fight !!
yeah i know what you mean. i wasn't trying to disagree with you. no doubt that seeing minato going all out, no holds bared, would be absolutely devastating. him taking out all those shinobi was just a small taste of what he's capable of.

sarutobi was pretty old if you noticed when he fought oro...he owned the first and the secont hokage's before fighting orochimaru itself.even young shinobi would get tired and would be out of chakra after taking suck a battle....so sarutobi even old was stronger than orochimaru!

just to inform you madara did say that itachi didnt want to fight when he got to konoha if he did he would've whiped th floor with kakashi/gai and kurenai at the sec he met them.and when he ran away from jiraya dont you think that he could've used amat or susanno back then but he didn't........
and some ppl are acusin me with fanboysim.........
