With no source of water (since the OP described the battle as having the same setting in which Hidan fought Asuma) Zabuza's water jutsu will be lack luster. He will probably have access to hidden mist water clone and maybe water prison. It will mostly be a battle against the silent killing technique.

Oh really? Your argument gave me an headache... How did you know? I believe Kakashi is stronger than Asuma, but slight.

I know because we saw him fighting Hidan. We can just give characters powers and strengths that we think they might possess. We have to go on what we know for sure. And Asuma didnt do sh!t....
I don't really recall zabuza taking any of them head on full without still trying to keep kakashi trapped. They werent even his concern :/
Also Kakashi at every point of this series has been easily miles ahead of most of the other jounin in konoha. Might Guy has pretty much been the only one on his level.
How about you tell me exactly how you think Asuma and Shikamaru will beat him? "Shika will magically think of a strategy and Asuma will execute it"? Come on....

Zabuza wins.
His hidden mist is extremely annoying and very underrated and with this shikamaru cannot analyse anything if he cannot see what happening. Besides im certain shikamaru would be the first to die. Alot of people underrate zabuza greatly yet forget that he not only outmanoeuvred kakashi in part 1, if it wasnt for plot no jutsu team 7 should be dead

Wtf....I don't hate Hidan I like him a lot, but his technique is flawed and leaves him vulnerable and hes stupid. I didnt make him like that, Kishi did so talk to him about it. I'm not making assumptions. My arguments are all based on what we've seen in the manga. You're the one not giving an actual argument based on the characters to defend your reasoning. I love how you still havent answered my question about how you think shika and asuma can win....
Like I told you in Hidan vs Temari, if you want to have an actual debate about who would win I'm more than willing to have that, but if youre just gonna quote me in your OP with no explanation or reasoning and just want to attack me then i'll just go back to no acknowledging you. It's up to you.

Ok so lets say Katon blows away the thick mist.....So when he does water dragons....what will the awesome combo do then? Its not fansturbation I dont even like these characters that much. Well i <3 shika but still theres nothing he can do. What can they do? We know of 2 things that asuma can do, ash katon thingy (against a water user is useless) and chakra blades (but he cant catch zabuza). Shika's is based solely on plot no jutsu because none of us can say what he'd come up with, he doesnt have 4 set strategies he uses, he just does whatever kishi thinks up so we cant pick anything for him. He wont be able to catch zabuza with shadows either cos hes not that fast.
So Ive told you why I think zabuza will win, hes faster, stronger, and fire is weak to water. How will they win?

You forgot to mention Buddha stuff(One of chiriku's technique)... Asuma is not a ***** he knows how to counter or avoid basic water jutsus. Are we still talking about hidden mist? That's other ppl using that in their arguments. Zabuza also has water dragons and the water bubble thing that can drown. And from what we saw in asuma's fight against hidan, hes not that good at avoiding now is he?.....Once again unless you've seen him have prowess in an area you dont get to just say he has it cos you want him to be better than he actually is. I've yet to give anyone abilities that havent been displayed.

zabuza's too strong for this one. water dragon bullet, water prison, silent killing. asuma's katons are countered by suiton.
