You guys probably already know that rikudou sennin was the founder of the ninja society, and also that he chose his youngest son over his oldest son. I'll get straight to the point - SO6P was extremely powerful and was the Jinchuuriki of the Juubi. He was also extremely wise, and if you take his power + wisdom + his Rinnegan = banbutsu souzou. BUT, many people don't pay attention to the two weapons he wielded. One weapon was a sword/katana. This represented his power and might. His second weapon was a Shakujou, or Buddhist Ringed Staff. This represented his love and peacefulness. On his deathbead, the Sage had to choose between his two sons, the elder brother (who thought power was the way, a.k.a the sword), or the younger brother (who thought love was the way, a.k.a the shakujou). Because of the Sage choosing the Shakujou over the Sword, it through the world out of balance, and thus gave birth to the Uchiha clan's "Curse of Hatred". My point is that SO6P's choice in choosing his younger son, was also like him throwing his sword away, a.k.a giving up on his older son. Instead of Yin = Yang, it became Yang>Yin = BAD, VERY VERY BAD!
