Exactly this, because logically it does make sense that madara would win because madara is supposed to be = and madara also had the Kyuubi so he definitely should have won. Hashi mustve destroyed Madara with sexy jutsu!

no I'm not saying that.
hashirama was stronger than madara but not by far.
I'm saying that fire has the advantage but madara's main fighting style depends on EMS, fire is a second thing.
while hashirama's experty is on wood.
hashirama's wood coulnd't overpower madara's fire but madara's fire couldn't overpower wood too. (that sounded like I saw the fight, first hand but...
)and as some other people said he could've used suiton too

You do know that Wood style is a combination of Water and Earth, right? That being said, this implies that Hashi knew some Water techniques. And Water trumps Fire. If you thought about this a little or did some research on Hashirama, you would have come to this conclusion yourself.

Element-wise, Madara only knew Fire style. Hashi had three to choose from: Water, Earth, and Wood styles.

Where the fuq does it say that? And Madara doesn't use Wind style, so why would it use wind techniques? You're probably thinking of the Bashosen, the fan that could generate all elements. That was used by Kinkaku and Ginkaku, not Madara.

Or maybe, just like sasuke and naruto, they were best friends at before, but madara fell inlove with hashirama after a kiss, so he(madara) couldn't kill him. Lol!

On a serious note though, as madara said in the past chapters, both of them are in different level but people called hashirama the strongest. Madara controlled the kyubi with sharingan but shodaime tamed the beasts like they were his' pets (if my memory serves me right, it was stated like that). I think you need a great power to tame even 1 TB. You should also take for consideration that he has healing techniques that doesnt require hand seals which madara gravely lacks. If you can recuperate while fighting, you have the greatest advantage. Other advantages of the first hokage were already stipulated in the previous replies.

Yeah, don't believe everything people say. The things that are canon are in the manga. Not even the anime is canon. Also, you can use Narutopedia which is a very reliable source. If someone tells you something that isn't backed up by these, then don't automatically believe it's true. Madara's fan was called a gunbai and it's basically just for show.
Well even if Hashirama had water earth and wood. Madara was the greatest fire style user ever. So dont you think he had an advantage angaisnt a wood user? Even if hashirama could use water Madaras Fire techs where on another level. So it would make it almost impossible to extinguish his fire techs. What im saying is it looked like Madara had the upper hand and he still lost. How? IDK!

maybe thats supposed to be the point just because someone has some sort of advantage over you doesnt mean you will lose because if you do look at it madara appears to have advantage with ems and fire over wood but the 1st was stronger because he wouldnt just randomly use wood jutsu knowing madara has fire he would use it as defence or going for a close range attack you gotta think about more than who has type advantage which madara didnt really have as he has water
