Nagato said his powers pale in comparison to the Sage, and Madara is only a little better than Nagato, so that shows the Sage is uber-strong.
Plus, he can just take control of the Seven Bijuu.
Also, the man created the moon on his deathbed. Let's examine what this means for a second: on his deathbed means he was weak, his power was drained, he was minutes from death. This also caused the Jubbi to escape, so that in itself would bring his power and strength down even further, to a point where normal people who had esceptional strength among others died. The Sage was THAT weak and still managed to split the Jubbi into Nine parts, scatter them across the world and create the moon.
Imagine if he was at full health WITH the Juubi's power

I honestly think this would be a near even match up.
Tobi and Madara
-Both have the Rinnegan
-Both have the Sharingan
-Madara has the EMS
-Madara has Wood release
-Madara has his hax meteor
-Tobi has Gedo Maza + 7 bijuus
-Tobi has S/T techs
-Tobi has his weird regenerating limbs
-Both have a vast amount of chakra

-Has the Rinnegan, probably amazingly skilled with it
-Lets say he has the 10 tails in him.

EDIT: Damn I thought this would've been a fair fight...I guess the majority disagrees. Looks like the Sage annihilates them.
LOL being a jinchuriki of 10 tails plus creator of tons of techincs and creator of 9 bijuus plus lol all that desctruction pein did with rinnegan powers. now just imagine him using all the techincs pein used but in bigger scale....ye thats hard. i go for so6p.

Ok, I changed my mind, the sage will not fart, the sage will just burp in a 10 tails style, ripping Madara's and Tobi's heads off.
But seriously now, the sage was worshiped as a God for some reason and Madara was called a fragment of the God's power; as someone has already stated before me. In all honesty, can a fragment or two even compare to the original? Lets be real here.
