First of all allow me to say this isnt a hate thread towards Hashirama because ive already hailed him as the greatest ninja ever even before the latest chapter releases nor am i taking a jib at his recent unknown fanbase xd. People have requested for me to create this thread and tbh it was already on my mind anyway. Reason for this thread is because although i believe Bringer of Darkness is a special technique, ive seen in recent vs threads regarding hashirama, people saying; "Bringer of Darkness and its over" and thats far from the case because this technique does have its advantages but at the same time its rigged with weaknesses and against high level shinobi's it would prove 9/10 times ineffective.
This is bringer of darkness
Basically bringer of darkness is a 'genjutsu' that controls only the opponents eyesight. Meaning its only the opponent eyesight that has been blinded. It doesnt turn the area pitch black in real life, its an hallucination that affects its opponent and no one else. Note that the other senses such as hearing, smell, touch and taste are unaffected. This is the first downside to this technique because regular genjutsu all your senses are controlled meaning you'd have to break the illusion before you can come back to real life and use nin/tai. In bringer of darkness only your eyesight has been taken from you therefore you arent in an illusion so to speak, you can attack and defend in real life, that is if you know where your enemy is. You are still vulnerable to attacks. One of big advantages is that it cannot be cancelled by normal means, you have to make contact with the user.
Now for the weaknesses of this technique. First of all its a short to mid range techniquehttp://naruto.wikia.com/wiki/Bringer-of-Darkness_Technique (look at the range column) , meaning if you are out of range you cannot be caught. Basically majority of long range fighters or shinobi's who can fly can escape this;
Deva path;
Deidora and Oonoki;
Mu and gaara;
Next is availability of clones. Clones allow two things. Firstly it increases your evasiveness/defence and also your offence.
We saw against neji how naruto increased his evasiveness/defence;
The chances are the user of bringer of darkness making contact with the real person is 1/100000000 dependant on how many clones the user makes. Secondly not even the byakugan can tell the difference between a clone and the original therefore its highly unlikely that the user of bringer of darkness would also;
The offensive capabilities of this kage bunshin should be pretty clear. You have the number advantage and with this increase the probabilities of you gaining a hit on the user of bringer of darkness;
Now the ability to put up a barrier would highly regarded in such a situation;
The rennigan like the sharigan and byakugan can see chakra and with this nagato was able to see the barrier. Its a good barrier because it detects the position of the opponent. This is a detection barrier.

So either a detection barrier or a barrier that traps its opponents into your ideal environment would counter this technique
Sensors, meaning people like, Ao, C, Mu, Naruto, Karin should all be able to sense and know where the user of this technique is;
There are many ninja's who are not sensor's so to speak but have techniques that allows them to either sense or locate their opponent. Example is nagato with his rain tiger at will technique
Gaara's sand sensing
Tobirama's technique and minato's technique;
Any ability to sense could prove vital against the bringer of darkness
There are many other abilities that you could use against the bringer of darkness. Examples are;

If the user of bringer of darkness was to use it, this technique will do very well because its now turned into a game of hide and seek.

). This technique if molded around susano could not only help with defence, but also offence if the user of bringer of darkness decided to attack;
Nagato's ability to use his different abilities in conjuction which each other should break bringer darkness. He was able to use human path (soul removal) in conjuction with pretha path to absorb rasengan;
Whilt using nakara path;
And asura;
He grew hands in that position ot counter bee.
If you go back to kakashi vs deva and asura path, he was able to grow hands at all corners of his body;
We know that he can use the paths abilities at ease. We also know that he can grow hands on any part of his body. Going by this if he decides to use asura path and create hands al over his body, then user deva path (banshou tennin), even though he wouldnt know where the user of bringer of darkness is, he would surely draw them to him because his 6/8 hands would be enough to cover any blind spot;

There are many high level ninja's who are not sensors but are incredibly keen and know their surroundings very well;
Itachi with his back turned was the only one able to know sense sasuke so to speak;
With his back turned was able to sense naruto's clones;
