Bringer of darkness is very similar to Tousen's bankai from bleach except Bringer of darkness just affects your eyesight and is a genjutsu.... It would've been scary as hell if it was the same as Tousen's bankai xd

quoting myself (lame i know) but i would reeeally like an opinion on what the huge advantage of using bringer of darkness and mokuton together. using mokuton while having his opponent under genjutsu eliminates the disadvantage of the whole contact with the caster scenario. so the only real ways to defend against this would be avoid getting caught in it (long range fighters) or shadow clones as you have said. even sensors and putting up a barrier wouldnt really do much as you would know where the opponent is but not where the mokuton attacks are coming from next.

Id probably suggest this as more of a surprise attack, maybe use with a combination of a hidden mist technique to sneak up, but as you said, if they are a sensory ninja, your screwed XD + rep!

???. Ive just lurked in the recent vs threads featuring hashirama and this is the one jutsu that the people that favour him keep on using, thats about it. I still find vs threads including him kinda pointless because we still dont have enough info on his abilities, meaning an opponent might be inferior to him, but due to their fighting style might be able to beat him

That still isnt enough. That chakra sensing barriers was able to be evaded my nagato because he saw it. If hashirama can see it also then he would most likely resort to long range attacks using mokouton. Even if he relies on long range attacks any sensor or ninja with sensoring techniques would still know what position he is when he attacks. This isnt an hashirama vs thread though xd
I feel like people read less of respected Narutobase members because you've been here long enough to have backup and prove a point.
Meaning that people won't feel comfortable arguing with you because you've been here enough to make threads.
Also keep in mind that a lot of the mentality here is young. People only want to read vs. threads and talk shit. The less intelligent a thread is, the more posts it gets.
First of all allow me to say this isnt a hate thread towards Hashirama because ive already hailed him as the greatest ninja ever even before the latest chapter releases nor am i taking a jib at his recent unknown fanbase xd. People have requested for me to create this thread and tbh it was already on my mind anyway. Reason for this thread is because although i believe Bringer of Darkness is a special technique, ive seen in recent vs threads regarding hashirama, people saying; "Bringer of Darkness and its over" and thats far from the case because this technique does have its advantages but at the same time its rigged with weaknesses and against high level shinobi's it would prove 9/10 times ineffective.

Basically bringer of darkness is a 'genjutsu' that controls only the opponents eyesight. Meaning its only the opponent eyesight that has been blinded. It doesnt turn the area pitch black in real life, its an hallucination that affects its opponent and no one else. Note that the other senses such as hearing, smell, touch and taste are unaffected. This is the first downside to this technique because regular genjutsu all your senses are controlled meaning you'd have to break the illusion before you can come back to real life and use nin/tai. In bringer of darkness only your eyesight has been taken from you therefore you arent in an illusion so to speak, you can attack and defend in real life, that is if you know where your enemy is. You are still vulnerable to attacks. One of big advantages is that it cannot be cancelled by normal means, you have to make contact with the user.
Now for the weaknesses of this technique. Basically majority of long range fighters or shinobi's who can fly can escape this;
