Earth Release: One of the basic five elements. The user can manipulate the earth that he/she is standing on to attack or could be for defense. Not really have to be on the ground and can be made of the users chakra. However most of the time since the user is standing on the ground they are able to perform all the jutsu's. I know that during my recent spars some went under the ground and such to dodge an attack and to use it as a sneak attack. The user can also manipulate the earth as in weight to either be heavy or light.
I also know that from other trainings that Earth is weak to Lightning and strong against Water. As the lightning would just break up the earth. With a mixture of Fire and Earth together it would create lava. Earth and water could create mud.

The only thing that I can think of is that you can manipulate a portion of the earth to attack/defend. I guess you could do that with all elements however you could drop a portion of the earth down to sink or raise it high above. You could also use it as an armor(I think there is a jutsu for this). Lot of things you could do with earth. You can go into the ground and travel distances and since in any battle you would be standing on the ground on most cases, you have an advantage against non doton users. Other than lightning there isn't really a weakness to other elements. Also you can create new releases with fire and water. That is all I can think of =/

Sorry senpai......

Before focusing on the characteristics of earth, I sit on the ground. As I am sitting on the ground I concentrate around my surroundings and the earth that I am sitting on. I close my eyes and I begin to meditate and trying to pick up things from the surroundings. I quickly feel the characteristics of earth. I think about the rockyness, muddiness, dustiness, and sheer volume of rock that is beneath me and the width that is all around me. It is hard and solid, as it feels unbreakable with just a mere fist. It is heavy as the size is bigger and denser. It can also be light as a feather when the earth is grounded down to pebbles of sand. It can blind you with the dust and massive amount you won't be able to see 5 feet from you. You could also make the earth rocky and sharp like a sword that has a point. Hrmm that's all I can feel about earth senpai.

First I concentrate on the characteristics of earth as I have felt before. The potential sharpness, enormous mass, rockiness, dustiness, and muddiness. I focus on the chakra that is flowing within my body and keep on thinking about the earth's characteristics. Then I find the earth chakra within me and I concentrate and focus more on it. As the chakra flows in me throughout the tenketsu, I immediatly make sure that the chakra flow is running in my body smoothly and evenly as having spikes in chakra levels would make me lose concentration. I quickly gather doton chakra and release it through my hands as I hit the ground with my palm facing down. Then I mold the chakra so that the earth in below me raise's above the ground thus creating a pillar with me on top of it.

I start by gatehring my doton chakra from my self. I concentrate and focus more about the earths characteristics. As I know that i can manipulate the earth that is around me, I release my chakra into the ground and in front of my through my leg and than my feet. As soon as doing so, I manipulate it so that the earth raises above from the ground and in a shape of a shield that can block most projectiles.

This is one of your most stupidly awesome jutsu. It can create a pillar under the opponent to hit him in the nuts and also to launch you away.

Now, for the second one I want you to focus your doton chakra in the earth under you and keep doing that till you've gone underground. Continue focusing chakra and move to your opponent, and grab their feet, pulling them into the ground till their head sticks out and you can do what you want!

As this is all new to me, I try once more and concentrate on the characteristics of the very earth that I am standing on. After I have concentrated enough, I focus on my doton natured chakra from within me. I focus hard as it's still new, though from previous trainings it seems as if I get the hand of it. I gather much chakra as I can towards my legs and then release it into the earth that is directly below me and then mold it at the sametime so that I can slip into it. Once done so I begin to go underneath the earth and I continue to concentrate and focus hard as I can. Once I'm completely underground I concentrate some more and make my way towards Wesobi Sensei!. While moving I get a feeling of his chakra where he is standing and lets me know where he is. Therefore I am able to move underground towards his location and I make it so that I would be behind him. Then I slowly raise above and eventually able to stick my head out and then I touch his feet to let him know i'm there. Then I get out of the ground completely behind him.

Advantages:-
Stealthy move when used to go underground when they didn't have any visibility of me when I perform this. Then they wouldn't be able to track me unless they had seen me. Also once I grab onto my opponent it would be a suprise and if they get sunk in they would be trapped.



Disadvantages:-
The opponent has to lose visibility of me when I perform this move to give an edge on the suprise. Or else the opponent could use his doton jutsu as well to flush me out as I am moving underneath.

Indeed. Keep in mind NEVER to go underground against a byakugan. Other doujutsus shouldn't be able to track you that well, but for the sake of argument, try to go underground only if you're fully sure that your enemies don't have doujutsus.

The user can then use it as a melee weapon or throw it with pinpoint accuracy at their opponent. Use your doton chakra and focus it in a rock. Change the shape with shape manipulation, and create a staff out of it. Very basic attack. Throw it or use it in close range.

I pick up a rock off of the ground and place it in the palm of my hand. Then I quickly focus on my doton chakra and gather it within my stomach. Soon as I am done i push it towards my hands and release it onto the rock. At the sametime I quickly manipulate the chkara so that the rock would turn into a staff. Once the staff has been created I swing it around for a few practice swings.

Advantages:-
I suppose when melee weapon is needed it would be useful as can conjure it when ever I need to. Could use it as a suprise attack and shoot it towards the opponent when they are vulnurable like when they are in the air.


Disadvantages:-
Easy to break or defend. A simply lightning attack or a stronger melee weapon like a katana would easily take care of the staff.

Do the rat hand seal, and focus your doton chakra around the opponent. Create two or more sections of rock. I can't really explain how it looks, but it's like those curled mokuton techniques Yamato uses, but then a lot wider. Just focus the ground around your opponent with chakra, as I said, and then crush them in between the sections of rock.

As I am standing on the ground. I focus my concentration on my doton chakra. Then I gether it towards my feet and make sure that I have a good bit of chakra gathered. Then I make a single hand seal rat and release the chakra onto the ground and at the same time manipulating the rock into a few sections around the area that i desire. Then I make it so that all the sections rushes towards the middle, crushing anything and everything that was in the middle of the formation of the rock.



Advantages:-
As with most doton jutsu's this would be a suprise attack as they won't be able to see the rocks coming or forming as it will happen right away. More useful if the opponent can't see the user as they would have t guess on what they are trying to do.


Disadvantages:-
Fairly easy to defend. Any raiton jutsu that can cut right trough to leave an opening instead of being crushed. Also doujutsu users could spot this coming right away so have ample time to defend.

Actually, it's still not clear about sharingan users. They'd have to face down to see what was actually happening, but it's still being discussed.

Description: The user changes earth into fine sand by channeling chakra into it, allowing the user to dig through it like a mole. While underground one can sense what is happening on the surface and use the information to launch a surprise attack on the enemy. Once can also hide deep in the ground, escaping to a depth where the enemy cant reach. It also appears that after digging, the ground can be returned to its original state, leaving no trace of where the user entered the earth.

USE THIS AGAINST A DOUJUTSU USER AND I WILL HONESTLY COME AND KILL YOU.
That being said, focus chakra under you and change the texture of the ground so that you can go through it. Once being underground, continue to do this, to move around freely. You'll also be able to notice what happens on the surface.

As I am finally learning how to use this jutsu as I have faced MANY that used this on me as they were avoiding my attacks.... sorry flash backs to my frustrations during battle. I focus on my doton chakra and it's characteristics. I gather my chakra within my feet and then once enough has been gathered I quickly release it into the ground that I am standing on. At the sametime molding it so that it softens and that I am able to sink into the ground. As now I am sunk into the ground I am also allowed to move around as frequently as I like. I can also pin point where wesobi sensei is standing as I am fuly aware of whats happening on the surface while i'm underground.


Advantages:-
Once used while their visibility of the user is gone, very easy to just go underground at that point and move locations. Also could use the same tactic to launch a suprise attack from behind or any other angle.

Disadvantages:- Doujutsu users could track the user down even when underground. There for could easily be flushed out and lose the element of suprise when caught. Can only get a sense of whats going on, on the surface. If the opponent is in the air this is useless.



Questions: -
1. Sharingan users, can they track them in the ground? I was thinking no because they can't fully look at a person's chakra in their bodies.
2. Can the user while underground use a different jutsu while being underground? Like say I use this jutsu and use bed rock coffin while i'm underground?
3. Without using doton jutsu, how can I flush out a user, using this jutsu that states "they are deep into the ground?"

Question one: Imo, no. Unlike the byakugan, it can't see through solid objects, so why would it see through the ground? Sharingan users will tell you otherwise, I'll give you that, so don't back up when they go into an argument.

From what I've seen, they can use doton jutsus while being underground. I'm not quite sure because it would mean giving up on the tech itself and getting crushed, but I'll ask Scorps when he logs on msn and tell you later.

3) Well, this one is mostly countered with doton jutsus. Try crushing the ground when doing so. If that doesn't work, try using the A-rank fire one that creates a lava stream. It should be able to reach them. Other than that, lightning techniques are you best option by far. I'd go for any kind of Doton jutsu that cracks up the ground and is of a higher level (so B-rank and up). That way, your chakra overpowers theirs, making their technique useless.
