Hiya guys!
A couple of members have asked me about the translations in 575; many of the pages seem accurate with minor mistakes (like Mei saying Tsunade's line), but there are a couple of important ones.

I've decided to start a thread about it, thanks to <3

Anyways, off we go...

In page 12, Kabuto's monologue is mistranslated.

The actual script was:

Kabuto - ( クク… 大蛇丸様が作った ダ ン ゾ ウ の 試 作 と はわけが違うよ マダラよ り 強 かった初代火影…そしてこの二人を 融 合 し たコレは僕の切り札!!この穢 土 転 生 は誰 も止めら れ な い!) -> Kuku... This is different from what Orochimaru-sama experimented on Danzo... Shodai Hokage who was stronger than Madara! The fusion of these two people, this is my trump card! This Edo Tensei can't be stopped!

In pages 4 and 5 there are minor mistakes, like Mei saying Tsunade's line and Kabuto's monologue, again.

Raikage - ( 何だ?) -> What?
Mizukage - ( なんて…規模なの…一瞬で 森 を 作 る な んて! ) -> How... This big... How did he create a forest this big in an instant?!
Tsunade - ( 皆花粉に気をつけろ!吸い込むな!) -> Watch out for the polen! Don't you inhale it!
Tsunade thinking - (樹界降誕ではなく花 樹 界 ま で… カブトめ…) -> First Jukaikōtan and now he's able to create Hanajukai... That Kabuto...
Kabuto - ( 初代火影千手柱間ほどの忍は も う い な い…人は皆そう言う… その強さを 聞い た ものは六道仙人と同じくあとぎ 話 だ と ね…今こそ…そのおとぎ話 を 現 実に…!) -> The first Hokage Senjuu Hashirama, there are no Shinobi like him anymore... Everyone agrees on that... As the legend goes, his strenght was comparable to that of Rikudou Sennin... Now... I'll turn that fairytale into reality!

Huh, I think that's it.
The rest of the chapter doesn't have any worthwile information and actually seems to be pretty accurate.

Anyways, hope I've been able to be of some help!
Cheers! :izuna:

Thanks. That was useful. I had a feeling that that's how the Danzou line was meant to be read, but not knowing Japanese I was just relying on intuition and context of past and present issues. I wonder why Kabuto is trickier to translate than the others, as he seems to have the worst mistakes.

My friend who's actually from China (recently came to US for his PhD in Physics 6 years back) recently took 4 semesters of Japanese and still can't translate these raw manga scripts and needs subtitles for the anime, lol. Thus, I wonder how you've acquired the unique vocabulary. I don't think Naruto is on the syllabus and it wasn't in any of the books' chapters, lol. :shrug:

ET Madara => EMS + Mokutoun + Rinnegan + natural skills = :eek:

+rep :izuna:

Peace

Well, the reason why most of the mistranslations are made in Kabuto's lines is because he uses a different manner of speech. He speaks backwards, usually doesn't complete his sentences and forms his sentences in a suggestive manner.

Actually many of the characters in the Japanese version have different speech patterns, but it doesn't apply to English.

Like Shino and Naruto... You might have realized that Shino's lines are sometimes written in 3rd person in the English version too. It's a lot more noticable in Japanese and he uses a kind of noble speech pattern.

Same goes for Naruto's dattebayo! too.

The way Naruto is written isn't that different from day to day Japanese, it's pretty clear if we disregard the characters with quirks.
Learning Japanese in a class and actually learning the language are really different, to be honest.
You don't learn the daily used words in classes, you learn a lot more formal version of the language.

Speech quirks like da yo! or ja ne? aren't taught. But they're used in daily Japanese (which already has tons of different dialects in itself) and mangas.

Da yo! is the shortened and very informal version of desu with a meaningles exclamation in the end.

Ja ne? along with Ja? are the informal versions of Ja mata ne?, which means So, (later) eh? or So (later)?

I can already speak Turkish like my native language, and the structure of sentences, shortened words, slang and meaningless exclamations are very similar to those of Japanese. That's probably why I don't have much trouble in understanding it. :shrug:

Anyways, thanks! :izuna:
