Y won't my ps3 read disks

Look, so I put any disk in the ps3 but than it just waits a few seconds and makes a noise and nothing happens, no game pops or nothing. And it does ther with every game. Come on people who use a ps3, help me out here and tell me y it's not working

In all seriousness it might be dusty, blow it out.
The disk reader might be broken, might just need to buy a new one.

This happened to me but I got so mad that I threw the ps3 and broke it permanently. Reason I got mad was because I was about to go on house arrest and without it I had nothing to do O_O

turn off da ps3....then turn it on...then hold da on bottom till it beps 2times! then a menu! (ps3 recovery restore system) would pop out! then choose numba 5!

if its the the hard drive u got to get a new one if its dirty take it a part in clean but dont take it apart if u dont know wat u doing or third take it to play n trade in see wat they say

Not really,This happen to my ps3 but the problem was that it was getting old. So once you put the CD it take like 3min for it can bootup
