With just the kyuubi its not enough to stop the likes of Edo Madara, Tobi w/rinnegan & /s/t and EMS Sasuke(who'll probably wriggle out of his confrontation with Itachi through plot no jutsu).
Also, on the topic of Itachi now that he's going to confront Sasuke it means the edos get to stay intact with the threat to Kabuto neutralized for the time being. The 5 kages have gotten royally pwned whichever way you look at it. Onoki will go on a rampage , yes but kishis man love for the uchiha guarantess he'll die and it'll probably be upto Naruto(or his clones or w/e) to somehow put a stop to Edo Madara. Meanwhile, we all saw how it took all of Minato's genius to land a hit on Tobi its a dozen times tougher now with the latter having the rinnegan. And whatever else happens, there WILL be a Naruto vs Sasuke(who might even awaken rinnegan as well) fight at the end so.....just how the holy fck is Naruto going to manage all this? Don't say the kyuubi. Madara with EMS and Kyuubi lost to Hashirama and Edo Madara=Hashirama + rinnegan boost + EMS.
The recent chapters where Naruto talked to the tailed beasts and learned their names were for a reason. I think(theorize) that if Kakashi, Bee and Guy can keep Tobi busy Naruto might be able to free all the Bijju from the Gedo Mazo and merge their Yang power in his subconscious realm and become the new jinchuriki of the 10 tails. The allusions Kurama made to the Sage of 6 paths(the former jin) may have been for this very reason.
