No chance, not In America, not another 200 years. Although it can happen if he is secretly an atheist though. i strongly believe observing Obama for sometime that he is too smart to believe in religion.

Sadly there are still too many people who would rather than a man.woman in power who still listens to their 'invisible' friend.

I think the world has a lot of growing up to do.

It's as they say. A person can be smart & rational but people, people are stupid.

Also,as the other Bluangel poster showed us. Religious people can take things too far. Which means they wouldn't allow it.

Yes. In the future maybe.

But for now, No. I believe in God and I will support the one that share the same belief as i am, so that my religion is safeguarded when he take over the presidential chair. But some Leaders are hypocrite. They use it for their weapons, and when they faced such blames from the people they uses religions as an excuse and their shield. Which certainly not right.

Actually an Atheist has every right to become a President because religion isn't important in Politics now. If he/she has the right qualifications to become a President, all voters wouldn't care if they believe in god or not, we just need someone that can take charge since the U.S. is already screwed up as it is. Do you think George Bush was elected because he was qualified?

It has nothing to do with it. People vote for the one who's similar to them. Doesn't matter if he's right/wrong/stupid/smart. As long as you can get most people to be happy with you, you're in.

Sad truth.

Actually Bush was an idiot to be elected. But anyway that's not the point here. Look at Obama he's half Muslim and he's president now and we all know how people stereotype Muslims after what happened in 9/11, but that didn't stop him from getting elected. If that statement was true that people vote for the ones similar to them then why isn't John McCain our president now?

No1: He's black I think helped him a lot. There's a huge percentage of American voters who are Black.
No2: He's Muslim yeah,(I actually didn't know that thanks) But then again a huge percentage of voting Americans are too.

I'm not saying I don't like Obama, cause I do. But I think that he didn't really have anything going against him.
I'm not in a strong position to debate this. But I think that people tend to choose based on similarity rather than Qualifications.

Who cares what his religion is? If he has good policies he or she should become the president, if not then there is no need.

He is not a Muslim, whoever says that is more then likely a bigoted racist.

He is a christian first and foremost, and in reality it does not matter what religion he has.

Referring to your last post, people vote on the president they feel is going to benefit them the most.

Actually people voted for him because they were getting tired of having a Republican in the office for so long and wanted a change for once.

At this moment considering how religous views are taken into account by voters unless we get a larger population of atheists, the chances of an atheist president are virtually zero ._.

African Americans historically vote in large numbers for Democrats regardless of who's running. So perhaps Obama got a little bit of a bump, but really it isn't that much.

Obama isn't Muslim.

I think an Atheist would have as good a chance of winning as anyone else. It may be brought up along the campaign trail but at the end of the day I don't think it would be a big enough issue to prevent them from getting elected. Most of the people who wouldn't vote for them based on them being an Atheist are going to be Republican (they would need to be a Democrat), so those votes most likely wouldn't go to them even if they were religious. Elections come down to who gets the independents. Generally, religion isn't a primary concern for independent voters.

He isn't half muslim <_<;; He is Christian and his dad is Muslim. He might respect the cultures of Muslims, as we all should, but he doesn't pray to Allah
