What do you think happened to Rin?

I used the search bar and realized no one had made this tread and it may be a little bit better than constant "character vs character" threads. I was wondering what everyone's take was on what happened to her. I know Kakashi has said he wasn't able to protect her, but does that mean that she's really dead? If you think she is truly dead, how do you think she died?

I think she died almost immediately after Obito considering we don't see her at all during the Kyuubi's attack on Konoha:

So the hokage was orderd to kill Kakashi by the feudal lord, rin found out this plan and begged the hokage and feudal lord to take her instead, after sending rin on a secret mission she was banished from konoha.

I think she died right infront of Kakashi, thats how he knew for sure. He died just like Obito. That is why he is so strong now, living through those deaths and that sadness had affected him negatively.
