Is Itachi still under the Edo Tensei?

I am sorry if this has been posted before, but the thought just came to my mind and I looked around and didn't see a thread about this topic.

As we know Itachi was brought back under the Edo Tensei Jutsu by Kabuto, however using the Genjutsu he had given NAruto, he was able to lift Kabuto's control from over him.

However, although he is not under control, he is still a dead man walking is he not? Can't Kabuto simply end his Edo Tensei and send Itachi back to the world of the dead? Or did Itachi broke completely free and is no longer under the Edo Tensei? If that's so, is he alive again, or just a walking zombi with free will???

this is one of the biggest questions i want answered because if he is a edo when he gets kabuto to end it using his sharingan surely he will be released which means kabuto can then just revive all edos again including him because there wont be another koto amatsukami to break him free. but if he is no longer an edo then that is just OP because he is invincible then.

He has an Edo Tensei body. However, Kabuto has no control over what happens to him anymore (that is, he won't regenerate Itachi)

So I assume if Edo Tensei is reversed, Itachi will still be around but will have someone seal/kill him.

If Kabuto was to release Itachi from his bind or regain control then he must remove the Tag and/or override the "Charm Tag" physically, instead of remotely, to release the Genjutsu.

unless he learned Orochimarus body transfer technique he is still a walking zombie as you called it, but i doubt Kabuto can just release him as im sure he would have if he could because Itachi is a dangerous enemy. as for being able to just dismiss and re summon him i dont know if it works like that there hasnt been enough exact details released so pretty much all anyone says are assumptions, just like what i said is what i assume. for that what Kichiro Fujimoto said makes the most sense, but for Kabuto good luck planting or removing a tag in an immortal Itachi with free will. Even though technically it isnt free will that he has, because his will is now programmed to protect Konoha, so he cant exactly have a change of heart and decide to become evil, its just that his programmed willed matches what his free will would want.

we probably won't find out if he is truly immortal

he will probably be sealed in battle with kabuto (or tobi)

otherwise Konoha will have a unkillable immortal all seeing body guard with unlimited chakra (op much?)

agree ...it look like he would be sealed or else it wont gonna make sense being alive for many years and yea also overpower

hes still an edo, hes just not forced by kabuto anymore...weather kabuto can release it or not i dont know, would make the whole shisui uchiha eye useless if kabuto can just be like go away..

i find it more interesting that shisui's genjutsu is powerful enough to over ride edo tensei tags, talk about a super genjutsu...
