If the 9 Tailed Fox killed Narutos parents, why would he be friends with it?

True. In that regard, Naruto and Kurama both share the same pain as they were both treated badly by humans as you said, so they are actually alike each other really.
Naruto is unique and quite not like us(ordinary people who would be engulfed with hatred). Though he had some in him previously..
Further kyubi and Naruto are in the same body and they have known each other quite well. Naruto already considers Kurama as Nakama/friend and have forgiven all the trouble caused to Naruto.. Well forgive and forget..haha..

I respect your opinion , but dont forget that naruto is a fictional character and not a real human being , and many people are famous for their malice, envy.. and so on, but nevertheless we can learn something from him.
You need to read the chapter again or better yet get a pear of glass because you can clearly see the Sharingon in kyuuby eye's. Again ofc Minato broke the control but that's when he use barriers transport and then he sealed the fox
.And Minato didn't really kick his ass their was no victor. Retreating doesn't always mean you lose a fight, it can also mean you have a better idea of how to do things. Also Notices Tobi and him was on the same speed, Minato clearly said this man was too much for him and he would leave it to his son in the future with kyuuby. Tobi is powerful as shit don't get that twisted.

I'd say because he understands the Nine-Tails. And in fact, the Kurama was trying to kill him, but his parents intercepted it. Anyways, the fact that Kurama had been abused and sealed away and had its existence denied by those whom were essentially presumptuous and a bit ignorant about it, although it did admit that it was "a physical manifestation of malevolence". And Naruto doesn't exactly hold grudges.

9 tail didnt killed them intentionally, he was under control of Tobi. So he should be forgiven and befriend.
I think everyone misunderstood the question of the OP. The question is directed to YOU or US in person not Naruto.
I would hate it if someone killed my parents, especially if it's in front of my own very eyes. I would go find the killer, literally beat the sh*t out of him then kill him the same way he killed my parents.
So yeah, i would definitely not befriend someone who killed my parents.
Sorry to say this. But you are completely wrong. Kyubi was freed from control of Tobi long ago. 9 tails tried to kill Naruto, Minato and Khusina came in between and died instead. Kyubi was afraid of being sealed away and he intentionally did it(in the sense that he was not under control of Tobi)

The fox had been controlled by Tobi even if he had lost control. A wild animal cornered and trapped will act violently.
I also think Naruto understands that the bijuu are not all bad but can act that way because of the treatment they have been given. He recognises that he reacted badly in his youth when people feared and distrusted him
