Why amaterasu is said to be as hot as the sun

This is why I think that amaterasu is made of both fire and lightning element and thus as hot as the sun :

- because lightning is 2 to 3 times hotter than the sun.

-And I think that lightning is what gives amaterasu that black colour.

But that is just my opinion.

But, as others have said, it's definitely based around the sun goddess Amaterasu. Doesn't mean manga physics go hand-in-hand with reality.

And it probably isn't fused with lightning, hence the sun goddess.

The core of then sun is some were around 15 million degrees Celsius, so your saying that amaterasu is 3 times hotter than the sun? It would of killed anyone it touch in milliseconds, after that sentence I stop reading

The sun burns at like 6000°C and lightning is 2 to 3 times hotter. But maybe like you said the sun might be hotter in its core :shrug:

Basically the manga stated Amaterasu as hot as the sun because Kishi himself based it from the Japanese legend of the sun God Amaterasu. So he is linking it, like every other stuffs shown or mentioned in the manga. Other example, Tsukuyomi is actually the god of the Moon, coincides with Tobi's moon eye plan.

once you brought in temprature of the lightning you were comparing it to real world physics

for all we know chakra lightning could be a 100 degrees or a thousand its never stated
