What is your reaction to Final Fantasy XIII-2?

I played XIII up until Barthandelus (sorry about spelling) for his 1st fight. I absolutely thought it was WAAAAAAAAY too linear and all the Final Fantasy glow was sucked away (like the towns and shops with people that made you feel like adventuring, not just battling every two seconds)

I saw that this one might make me buy it. It seems to be MUCH better and reminds me of one of my favorites, Dark Cloud 2. Minus the town building. :p

Apparently, it's returning to the town feel of games like Final Fantasy X (my favorite <3).

A playable demo hasnt been released...Im a huge FFfangirl and If a playable demo was out at any Convention, I would know.

XIII wasnt a fail, it was pretty good except i wanted to fight Titan and get pwned in one move, and FF10 had the best storyline other then 7 since u know its so famous and has a movie about it.. they making a FF10 remake in HD.. gonna get itxd

I thought it was terrible, way too damn linear for my tastes. It seemed like they focused on making it pretty more than anything else. That's just me though.. and I beat the game by the way.

On its own, XIII was OKAY at best. Compared to other final fantasy games, I can say one of the worst. Although its graphics and sound stunned me (in a great way) and the story interested me, it did not feel like an adventure. last i checked an adventure doesn't involve walking down a 2 foot wide road that is straight and into an enemy. last i checked, in final fantasy, you don't use an ebay-like shopping device. last i checked, in final fantasy, towns aren't cesspools of monsters with no people to chat with or places to interact in.

wait u arent the peace guy r u? i thought Leaf Eater said that.....xd.. anyway i kinda liked the game especially.. but it had no Omega weapon and Ultima Weapon did it??
it was meant to be but Final fantasy10 is still my favourite

yeah mine too :)

btw, guys, most of the game (XIII-2) revolves around time travel! yay :D Apparently, you can use these time gates to travel anywhere (and any time if you catch my drift) you want! cool, right?

I didn't find them either. It's almost as if they went so far with the graphics on XIII that they couldn't pack as much content into the discs, so they left it as is and made it linear to save on spending. If they really put in the work that they needed to in their last couple of games they wouldn't be in the financial position they're in now. I think had that been the same team who worked on the earlier FF's the Xbox 360 would have had like 6 freaking discs, and would have sold a lot more. I don't know if it's just me, but I don't see the passion in their work anymore.

FF8 yes, not so much FF12. Though FF12 was a lot better than 13. I remember after paying 59.99 for 13, I beat it in about a month and a half, then found FF9 for six bucks and I still haven't beat it. It's been about 6 months, I'm 90 hours in, and I'm enjoying it much more. Anything past FF10 is mediocre at best in my opinion. Maybe I'm just a nostalgic fool? lol
