Why? Both are known for their unqiue skills in their areas of expertise such as The First Hokage's (Hashirama Senju) Mokuton Style Jutsu (which is the combination of Suiton and Doton Element) and Minato's FTG Technique. Their skills and abilties also have an advantage which is a disadvantage to Madara's techniques such as Katon Techniques, and Doujutsu possession, Sharingan/Rinnegan, and their abilities. Madara, which is an Edo Tensei Zombie, has a minimum chance of surviving the battle against the two.

Minato and Hashirama. Hashirama in addition to providing info and blinding Madara with genjutsu of darkness(it canonly be broken by making contact with the user) can help Minato get his seal inside Susanoo with wood release that can grow from under Madara, and face off against Madara distracting him and allow Yondaime the opportunity to stab both eyes(if he touches Hashirama he wont be affected by the darkness), eliminating all doujutsu, then Hashi can bind him with wood so that he cant form seals for any other tech then Yondaime seals him. Minato can also get shodai the heck outta there during meteor no jutsu.

why is minato irrelevent here. because his offence can't do anything to even madara's weakest form of susanoo the susanoo ribacage. this intern means his seals can touch him either. minato is a non factor here.7
