With out his sand gaara is the slowest character.

But, we've never seen Gaara do anything without Sand. It is also part of Gaara's character to use sand, thus it has to be counted as a part of him and one of his traits. If Gaara is fast with sand, then he is fast.

Also, If you took away the 8-Gates from Lee & Guy, they wouldn't be too great either. Don't make what if scenario's for one person.

I think that Chidori does have a small chance of piercing Gaara's defence but I have reasons to think it wouldn't.

1: Raikage's Lighting enhanced full power Guilloting drop failed to get past Gaara's sand.
2: Sasuke's Amaterasu failed to break throught Gaara's defence.
3: Jokey boys explosion barely scratched Gaara's wall of sand, and that wasn't his special sand.
4: Gaara helped block Madara's Susanoo's technique,with Oonoki of course but still.

Gaara's defence is very strong. We don't yet know HOW strong though.

kamui will works perfectly against a still stand and not fast ninja such as gaara.

I did think about this so very good point.

My issues with Kamui:

1: The huge chakra drain. Roughly half of Kakashi's chakra.
2: It might be possible that Gaara's sand gets in the way and itself would be absorbed. Gaara has a lot of sand so could potentially block both Kamui.

I would also argue that Gaara has never been seen to have a disadvantage in a small area. The only time he has ever used space to his advantage was against Deidara and it was just to save the village. Otherwise, Gaara stands still.
Water doesn't seem to affect Gaara too badly. He still defended the Oil. Although it did crumble his defence.

Gaara with mid-difficulty always.Thinking Gaara's defense will be pierced by chidori or kamui is just...Let's be realistic. Chidori isn't even near legend Mizukage's technique,Deidara's explosions,half of Madara tomoes,Gold dust release... And even if that was possible Gaara is not such a stupid to fall again in the same trick.

i hope you realize that chidori and raikiri are not the same.
chidori is the basic jutsu and raikiri is the advanced form, that is why it is called raikiri(lightning cutter) if sasuke's chidori could break through his defence i don't see why the advanced form (raikiri) can't do the same.
and who says raikiri isn't legendary, even the raikage knows about it. chidori broke through the fourth raikages's lightning armour in his fight with sasuke although it didn't do inflict any dqamge on him.. now what happens if it was raikiri that was used?

Simple.Because when Chidori got through Gaara's defense,it was in chunnin exams...We're talking about the present,not several years ago or about the genin he was.
And I repeat the same. Raikiri<<<<< Mizukage's legend technique,Deidara explosions,Yasaka no Magatama...

He would be too distracted by his riakiri clones...and everyone keeps saying Kakashi chakra is low and 1 Kamui is half chakra, that was when he fought diedora and he has advanced since than!!!

Well Deidara didn't exactly penetrate his defense,he mixed his things with the sand,and Kimimaro wasn't able to destroy it(in chunin exams). But you're right,nobody talks about Gaara attacks.Everybody think he would be defending all the time.Nobody talks about how Kakashi will avoid his fast sand,the sand tsunami,the giant sand burial,the sand shower,the sand Karura clones,the sand that goes through the field...

I just wanna say, that if you have ever seen an explosion, you will know they happen fast. So if Jokey Boy(who is very quick) blew himself up.

Last databook stats puts Kakashi's speed at 4.5 at scale of 5. Gara's is 3. Not slowest though.

Garra became a Kage when he was a Jinchuriki but now he doesn't have one so technically he is below the Kage level or it could also mean that Sand Village is nothing but a bunch of weaklings....Imagine Naruto without 9-t...I mean he'd still be a Bad-ass with Sage Mode and 9-t won't pressure his normal Chakra but He'll nothing like what he is now.
