teach certainly know more about the void history and his D name so maybe he was trying to accomplish something that no one has ever been able to achieve

He is not evil he is just following his dream like Luffy to become a Pirate King and find One Piece but does not help others like Luffy to obtain that title which is normal for a Pirate. Its not he is evil its only that Luffy is really good so we consider him Evil.
Though i have 2 big reasons to hate him and wait till his ass get's kicked by Luffy or Marco or anyone else. One being he betrayed WB pirates by handing Ace to Marines and second insulting,betraying,injuring and somewhat killing Whitebeard.

yeah! You said what I wanted to say..
Capturing ace alive or dead,both situations could've made him shichibukai but he let him live and somehow expected whitebeard to rescue him but when he couldn't,he told him he respected him very much but now WB has become old now that he couldn't even save one nakama and it's time to say farewell to world for him...
Some very powerful motivation is behind his lust of power...
he is one of the cool characters for me...

if he wanted he could kill ace and still get warlord position but he didn't...
He left whitebeard coz his purpose of hanging with him was complete and,also you can't expect him to say whitebeard that"I want to be pirate king and,so long I have been living with you to have greater chance to find what I wanted.and now I am leaving"
He couldn't made out alive coz everyone else trying to make WB pirate king(even if WB doesn't want to be)...
