Yeah! I agreed! And still Luffy has to learn to use his haki perfectly. Yet, we don't know Big Mom's nakamas abilities or powers. Meybe one of them stronger than zoro or sanji. Luffy can't take handle all of theml at once.:shrug:
I disagree with this .None of the straw hats were fighting at the true potential . Zoro just showed us one move and sanji 2 moves ,Nami also showed us only 2 moves .They still have a lot more moves up their sleeves .If they are not ready for taking on an Yonku ,luffy would not have challenged her in the first place. Luffy challenged her to test himself and his crew if they are on a yonku level after the 2 years training and also to save the fisher man island

I agree that the SHs weren't fighting at their fullest, but Luffy did not take on Big Mom because he wanted to test himself. He also isn't ready to take on a Yonkou RIGHT NOW. There will be several arcs before he takes on Big Mom, just like what they did with Alabasta and Crocodile.
I don't want several arcs like the one in alabasta
.I do not minds mini arcs .The story is getting heated up just now .I wish ODA directly gets into BB arc .The mig mom arc will definitely run for another year or 2 with out a doubt .I wonder when ODA is gonna show us BB Arc or dragon Arc and WG arcLuffy did not challenge BM becouse of he knew that he could defeat her, but rather Luffy speaks without thinking:shrug:
Like Boa's said, there will be several acrs before Luffy takes down BM. 'till Luffy and his nakamas gains some experince and abilities to defeat one of the younkous. This Oda's style and honestly I like that becouse there is no shortcut.
And also, right now Luffy even can not defeat Smoker.

That's not the case this time. Preskip Luffy would have done this because of his reckless nature but timeskip Luffy has matured. He might still look like an idiot but he did mature like Goku or Naruto.
He challanged her because there was no other choice. I think he's fully aware of the opponents he's going up against but unlike two years ago - this time he's prepared. A Yonko and her crew is a perfect opponent to show the fruits of their two year training. We will get to see full chapters of solo fights and everyone in the team going all out. Luffy might not be strong enough to take out Big Mam alone but no one excluded the chance of some old ally joining in. After all, there's plenty of pirates who would like take her place. Kidd, Law, Crocodile, Buggy all cross my mind. Each of them could end up fighting Big Mam along with Luffy.
Personaly, I don't think there will be another, 100+ chapter long, Baroque Works type arc. It would be too repetive and unnoriginal from Oda. Big Mam is strong but not invincible. There's plenty of ways how Straw Hats could take her out and not look too OP. To be honest, so far Luffy defeated all of the major opponents with the help of some huge advantage why would this be different? The fights aren't so interesting/epic when Luffy is put up against equal opponent. They are too boring if he's put up against someone weaker than him. The best fights are when he's fighting someone way stronger than him and we are fine even if he has to use some plot-advantage to win.
