I made a minor mistake in the masked man's statement but nevertheless he influenced a mentally disturbed Sasuke who seemingly was going to walk away and let her live seeing as the masked man commented on her situation. Its not that he doesn't accept what Itachi did for Konoha its how the villagers continue living their life not knowing Itachi's sacrifice.
Nagato as another e.g. murdered his former sensei as he stated he held no more love for him and thought of him as an outsider much like how Sasuke thought of Team 7. He even told Konan not to mind him if she could kill Jiraiya first. Pein himself stated that the pain you feel (in his case mainly Yahiko) affects what you say, think and it molds you into a real person much like Sasuke's pain of losing his brother/clan. Obviously, Pein has been subjected to insanity beginning with his parent's loss and ending with Yahiko. His mind became unstable, was manipulated by the masked man and even thought of himself as a God. All key parts of what happened to Sasuke. The pain, the insanity that evolved from that pain, manipulation and the corruption that is birthed from the manipulator's control and arrogance.
I understand that Sasuke is one person but take Kumogakure as an e.g. They kidnapped Kushina in order to gain the Kyuubi. A head Kumo ninja attempted to steal Hinata and when the Hyuuga clan brought this up to Kumogakure they demanded Hiashi's body as compensation to which Hizashi sacrificed himself. Even the Third Tsuchikage stated that during a time when the five nations were at peace, Kumogakure was relentless in their efforts to amass power and techniques, an act which he stated provoked others to employ the Akatsuki.
Deidara/the masked man were the ones who provoked him initially and he didn't display him any ill will even taking the time to explain how he was able to counter his Bakuton. He simply wanted info on Itachi. He never stated that he'd spare him if the info was given. Then Deidara's sanity began breaking when he stated that Sasuke's eyes were the same as his brother's and that they made him mad. Having lost it he resulted to literal suicide bombing as a last resort. However, I never saw any malice from Sasuke during their fight's entire run.
Well, Sai intercepted before we could see if it was to be a fatal blow. Besides that completely contradicts his orders given to team Hebi/Taka about not killing if possible. That Sasuke quote for all we know was to back team 7 off of him due to their traveling so far and after two years it wouldn't be easy to have them forget about him thus he could have stated or acted out anything to achieve this without actually killing them just as Itachi maintained a facade of an antagonistic role towards Sasuke after the Uchiha massacre up until his death. My point is, its possible that Sasuke put up a performance like his brother to have Team 7 cease with their goal of recovering him therefore he could continue with his goal. I'm not saying this is fact but probable thus people shouldn't be close-minded even with character(s) they dislike/hate.
