Possible way to avoid visual genjutsu

As everyone knows visual genjutsu can ruin anyone's day but there seems to be many people that for some reason don't get affected by it. This is not what I'm going to talk about though.
Lets talk about Gaara, He has the ability to create a third eye what a nifty technique that is. But can he be subdued by visual genjutsu?
In theory The third eye is always said to be connected to the optic nerve so its like an eye that is wirelessly attached to the brain. So in theory its the same as his actual eye in which case he would be affected.
And I do believe the user would be affected. However there is a possibility that the user wouldn't, if there is some reason that the genjutsu just can't pass over to the user then it wouldn't work. Or in the genjutsu is cast and the user just disconnects the eye though I don't see that possible but a friend does.
The way I see it is the eye is almost on a separate chakra line so to speak. And the user could change the chakra signal and thus cancel the jutsu. But I just think it wouldn't work but my friend thinks differently.

So my question is do you think the third eye can negate the visual genjutsu? If yes how?
I personally say no its connected to the optic nerve so its as if its the users real eye thus its the same. However it can be a sound theory to work for certain reasons and I'm curios to hear others opinions on the matter.
I still say no though my friend says yes so its 1 to 1 so far.

i would say he would be unaffected because it would be the same concept as one(or 2...... I forgot) of the six paths of Pain getting caught in Ma and Pa's genjutsu (even though it was a vocal genjutsu) when J-man fought them for the first time.....I doubt that all of the paths were affected by that one genjutsu because that would just make no sense at all.....

so I think Garras eye would have the same shared vision as the rinnegan but i also have no facts to back that up....its just a theory....also I dont remember garra ever getting caught in a genjutsu (other than the Mizukage's really lagit one on himself) so there is no way to tell...

Yeah I know where you are coming from on this. And with the sound genjutsu I would almost say it would have made more sense if Nagato the controller of the Six paths, was caught in the genjutsu which he might have been but doubt it. Because he is the actual ninja the six paths are just vessels he uses. Same way they don't feel pain so the genjutsu shouldn't work on them if it doesn't work on Nagato himself. Fact is it most likely didn't work on Nagato but just the paths whether that is a screw up in the plot or not it still happened.
So you definitely have a point on that one. And nice mentioning of the six paths I completely over looked that.

7. last but not the least, a complete jinchuuriki can easily break genjutsu because of a bijuu partner...

Well put and I did think of the eye being like a clone but I thought the genjutsu was transferred to the clones real body, but I guess not. And with a few other ones I'm not sure you can Break the tsukuyomi, I know with number 5 you can't seems how it happened in a split second and completely messed up Kakashi's mind and Guy was right there. So tsukuyomi is a bit hard to judge.
But nicely put anyway.

Because you haven't seen something doesn't mean its not true..
Rinnegan is the next step of sharingan, but its safe to sayu Nagatos rinnegan is incomplete,seeing that madara's has all his sharingan abilities...

Sharingan or rinnegan is NOT what is needed to beat tsukyomi.... Itachi clearly said his tsukomi requires someone with uchiha blood... and nagato does not have that





Sharingan only HELPS you see through a genjutsu.. and realize you're in a genjutsu faster than others... thus you have a better oppurtunity to break it...Sasuke trained his eyes so much, when itachi used genjutsu on him, he saw through it, and countered

Like kurenai with handseals or Hashirama with handseals

sharingan just allows them to cast via eye contact, eliminating handseals etc


There really is no way to dodge a decently high level genjutsu...
Even kurenai got itachi in 1, even though he countered it, he was still in it, for even the slightest of time
