If they had all the information of their previous fight I say Gaara would win, I think he's smarter than Deidara and would come up with something. If not I think a fully powered Deidara with the intent to kill would win again.

I think they were equally handicapped in their last fight though, I know Deidara didn't want to kill him, and he was short on clay... but as a Kazekage, and a young one at that I can't imagine the pressure Gaara was under. He had to try and kill Deidara as quick as possible, and protect his entire village. I'm just saying his focus was not entirely on Deidara and he still did a good job, while Deidara only had one thing in mind.

I like Gaara alot but he has no counter for Deidara's c4 so I can't see him winning this.

yeah but a giant clam is one thing, these are microscopic, i dont think that his sand can detect something that small, and in the fight it showed that it covered a good area and disintigrated all of it...worst case scenario is that gaaras sand is disintigrated and that forces him to use normal earth

Good point. I'm not saying Gaara would figure it out in any other way than to realise his sand grains were dissappearing. Gaara is very tactical and supremely smart. Which btw is not how I imagined Kishi making him out to be but I'm happy with it.

We are all aware that he did not use C4 during that fight yes. I'm sure that under different circumstances the fight would have been very different for both people.

It could be possible that C4's nano-bombs would bypass the "sand molecules" and hit gaara himself. It might not be THAT small though

From my point of vue Deidara is still stronger, cuz he even won last time without using his full potential cuz he didn't wanted to kill Gaara

neither fought at full potential. gaara was weaker than in war arc and had to save his village. deidra underestimated gaara and had to not kill him. deidara was a bad matchup as he ate sand and turned it into clay which mixed with gaaras own sand. deidara wins this one

Gaara maybe had handicap to save the village, but at the same time he also had the huge advantage of fighting in a desert. So he could take easily advantage of the sand. Even Deidara told that he was in a huge disadvantage there. And he will not fight in the desert every time.

you want to play the advantage/disadvantage game people well yes gaara had to protect his village but deidara....

-couldnt kill gaara
-didnt use c2 or c4
-pretty much had to use c1 mostly throughout the fight

gaara has gotten a lot stronger this is true and i think it would be a lot closer now but i still say deidara with high difficulty because of c4

it would kinda be like the sasuke vs deidara situation gaara would use that ball thing to protect himself if he ever knew about the bombs but he has to come out sometime

and deidara could blow a c4 bubble out like he did with sasuke and gaara would then be screwed

I agree that it's true that Gaara was in the Desert...that said, it's not quite that simple. Gaara was fighting above the Desert and trying to keep the fight away from the civilians.

Deidara was trying to bring the fight into the streets of Sunagakure which Gaara had to put up with. If it had been Gaara vs Deidara in the Desert without Suna anywhere near them, then Gaara wouldn't have had to gather so much sand and hold it so high above the village for the duration of the fight.

I agree though that Deidara was not trying to kill Gaara, but that being said, Deidara did run outta clay during that fight...so had Gaara lived through that last attack, Deidara would have been out of projectiles.

I feel that Gaara now, would demolish Deidara. Gaara is far superior to Sasuke was when he beat Deidara.
