Agreed.
I think that Gaara would have noticed the clay in his sand if he hadn't been lifting 10,000 tonnes of sand.
Gaara wasn't taking any damage from Deidara. It was one hit and Gaara was still able to use the last of his Chakra to take the sand to safety. Additionally, Gaara was always keeping Shukaku under control.
If Gaara had no handicaps, he would have destroyed Deidara.

its true that gaara was protecting the village and all that but remember that deidara was trying not to kill him, he unveiled alot more powerful techniques against sasuke that he would have used to wipe the floor with gaara

Because Gaara tries to supress him at all times. The Village comes first and using the Biju like Naruto has in the past has big risks.

I always wondered how Gaara would handle that. I think Gaara would be able to get out of reach in time. Alternatively he could just sink himself deep into the sand and out of reach there. Gaara keeps sand grains in the air over a long distance to feel whats going on around him and not get surprised. this is how he found the 2dn Mizu's Clam.
I think those would have caught on to the tech.

id like to say garra because i like him and i think diedra is a ***** but i dont think garra has an answer for c4 and if it was a fight to the death i think garra loses .....but i would like to see that rematch and see garra win

yeah but a giant clam is one thing, these are microscopic, i dont think that his sand can detect something that small, and in the fight it showed that it covered a good area and disintigrated all of it...worst case scenario is that gaaras sand is disintigrated and that forces him to use normal earth
