Elder son was all about power and stuff and he was the one with the eyes (Uchiha) and the younger son was all about love and stuff and he had the body of the sage (Senju). So yeah, I'd say your theory holds grounds

Those are just names. Why couldn't the sage have both of them take on his legacy? If he chose both their would be peace so there would be no hatred between the brothers. I never heard of their hatred before the sage chose. And before someone comments on this I said "hatred" not different views.
