itachi said that there had been a lot of uchiha killing their best friends for ms. the confirmed uchiha we know are madara,izuna,kagami,shisui,obito,itachi,fugaku and sasuke. 5 of those have ms,1 of them attempted a coup d'etat, 2 of them are filler. and power isn't the strength to peace, just because the violence is far away doesnt mean that everything is peaceful. people, innocents, die everyday so we 'civilised' nations can have our 'peace'. meanwhile, there are tribes around the world who have actually removed their instinct for crime and violence, that is peace. and Ghandi didn't fail.
also, the senju didn't kill off the uchiha. hiruzen, who had senju ideals, was all for finding a compromise. danzo, who's ideals ironically were peace through power, pushed the elimination of the uchiha. not to metion the whole problem was instigated by uchiha through and through.
Uchihas are known to be power hungry and in general complete a holes, while the Senju/Uzumaki characters are light and pure hearted in their way of thinking.

*sigh* ok then i'm sry that you can't infer what happened by seeing the blood on the grass, and the known fact that killing one's best friend is the way to achieve the mangekyou if you want to see the image of the dead bodies to prove it then watch the anime episode that depicts the same scene the bodies are shown in the anime but not the manga. i believe it is episode 136 it should be the episode titled "the light and dark of the mangekyou sharingan"

Yeah, you seem ignorant as a lot of people in this thread, and in America are. It's not an excuse that Sasuke wants revenge for his clan's death, it's truth. If you knew someone killed you whole entire family that you loved, would you not want revenge. Sasuke's reason is different from Naruto' drive. Like you said Naruto was practically raised alone, hated by everyone since he was a child, he didn't know why, that's the reason he looked for acknowledgement. That's the reason he wanted people to love, or respect him. Sasuke had known the warmth of a family, and the clan. Losing it all would drive a man crazy.

How many of you here wouldn't get your revenge. Sasuke's emotion is more realistic than Naruto. Naruto looks like he's still hiding something from deep he doesn't want others to see. his other self, his dark self.

kakashi never wanted revenge on the hidden rock or other leaf ninja... and the uchiha have ppl like madara and sasuke , senju and uzumaki havent had 1 in HISTORY , a good act to get revenge , a bad 1 to kill hundreds to get there , and hundreds AFTER ACHIEVING YOUR GOAL, and no naruto is peaceful and kindhearted like about 60% of ppl today , his dark self was defeated... and whats deep down in him... the kyuubi , and possibly inherited jutsu like chakra chains lol , but other than that naruto is like goku how he is almost perfect in personality , the uchiha are failed versions of senju and just as the thread describes , arrogant and evil

then, they shunned the uchiha, separating them from the village and treating them like disgraced traitors
like i said before, the uchiha were cursed, they were branded with one lifestyle: revenge
they believed that revenge was the suitable punishment, so they planned the coup
you gotta look at it from their side too, they were living peacefully in the village when suddenly, they were branded in the village as battle-hungry tyrants and ostracized from society, it was only natural they began to develop a hate for konoha
