Yah there are people that argue that but sharingan is a deformed byakugan, as he said hyuuga woman and a demon.

It even tells you in the anime its a direct decendent of byaakugan, byakugan being the stronger one. Sharingan seems stronger to me though

me 2 i think sharingan is extreamly powerful when used correctly, it offers way more power than the byakugan...EMS, Amaterasu, tskuyomi, and the unfair lol jutsu susano'o...there has to be a reason y Pain takes orders from Madara...the EMS probably has powers we have'nt even seen yet...how could he just allow justu to just pass right through his body? I can't wait to find out the truth behind it all.

you could say that it is like the demon spirit tribute to madara uchiha. two sets of eyes, because he was given his brother's mangekyou eyes after he went blind. so he has technically 2 sets of eyes. in this chapter, itatchi wants to take sasuke's eyes like madara, hence the background reference.

i doubt it, i've heard this theories and most likely there false. Itachi said that there is more to the sharingan than controlin the kyuubi. Remember itachi could use susano( a god in japanese mythology) maybe the power of the EMS is to summon this guy whoever he is

i think the statue opens an eye ech time a person activates for the 1st time his MS or something.

that statue isnt the father of madara? madara sealed him! and when he opnes all eyes he will revive. i think is madara's father (demon) that is sealed and itachi wants to revive him to fight madara, because hes the only one that can fight with madara serious. and sasuke, with the help of that can kill madara.
