I just woke up and had a nice idea. We all wonder why Madara knows Nagato and I came up with some possible solution. Most probably junk, but perhaps a good solution.
What do we know?
Madara knows Nagato. Nagato should have revived Madara. Nagato activated his Rinnegan with "pain", first time when his parents died ( A strong emotion, kinda equal to awakening the MS)
Ok and now to my idea. What if Nagatos past was just an illusion?
We know that Itachi has his Eternal Illusion Jutsu and used it against his brother to make him see the whole massacre (well the way Itachi wanted him to see it) and against Orochimaru. It is called Eternal because the victim caught in the genjutsu will feel being in the illusion like forever, until the Sharinganuser frees him. Itachi could master this jutsu with his MS.
And now I assume that all MS-Users can use this genjutsu. (Cant confirm it)
If thats true, Madara has it too. And now just think about it. If Madara can use something like this, he can trap u in his genjutsu and make u believe whatever he wants. He can make u see things that will make u paranoid.
It is possible that Madara kidnapped Nagato as a child and let him grow up to become the perfect puppet, but in the end Naruto changed him.
It is a little bit overimagined, but possible. Why else does Nagato has Madaras Rinnegan? Why else does Madara know Nagato (and Nagato doesnt seem to know Madara, if he knew him, Tobi wouldnt say to Nagato that he was Madara, Nagato would know his isnt...)
Tobi/Madara wants to trap the whole world into an genjutsu, they want to control the peoples minds and let them believe in a fake reality to obtain peace. Nagato could have been a prototype of this tech.
