not at the cost of her sanity or safety, i wouldnt. hinata was only in the way, in the same way a wall is in your way when your trying to get to another room. she had NO plan, NO hope, and DID NOTHING except make naruto feel worse than he already did. hinata never expected any demonic monster to come out and narutos father's leftover chakra to save the village. her thought process was "im selfish so that gives me the right to go get myself killed and leave the village in a worse position than it was before.
hinata "loving" him is an excuse her fans use. love doesnt mean suicide. hinata throwing herself onto pain's rod is the last thing naruto would want, hence him screaming for her to get out. for naruto, he would rather get captured than have anyone die for him. hinata also not only ignored naruto, but her superiors. she had orders to not go down there and did so anyway, making her a traitor who doesnt care for the rules. all cos she has a puppy crush.
even sakura understands it. the reason she didn't step in and fight orochimaru or zabuza is because kakashi ordered her to stand back and let him handle it. kakashi got captured in the water prison because the kids didnt escape and instead let themselves get in kakashi's way. even hinata admitted she was selfish. was naruto being captured really so bad? nagatos plan actually had the right idea. theres no such thing as true peace.
