I agree with you. An anime is created secondarily to please fans and primarily to make profit (you don't think TV Tokyo has a contract?) They're just hurting their own profitability by doing this. I understand fillers if they need time to distance the manga or whatever. But 6 months of fillers is nonsense. It's a blatant attempt to drag out the profitability of the series before it ends.

Most fans will come back. But some won't. Even though these fillers are ending in January, I'm not excited about them like I normally am. Because I know now they'll do 1 great fight arc, and then we'll go back to at least 3-4 months of fillers. It's taken the fun of Naruto away for at least one fan, and I suspect others.

An insult to fans? I'll tell you what's an insult, people who complain about something that is FREE. You have no right to get angry because you're not paying for it. Besides if there were no fillers the quality of the animation would be terrible if it still came out every week, it would be another Chibaku Tensei on every episode. If the quality was to be the same as always it would have to come out at least once every 2 weeks.

The more I think about your post, the more it annoys me. Who the hell are you to always assume people mean the stuff they are getting for free?
News Flash for ya: Naruto isn't free when you buy it!!
Have you bought season 7,8 and 9. Did you think that they were worth buying?
They were all filler, all 3 seasons. Just because you can go onto these websites and read this stuff now, doesn't mean that was always the case. In order for it to be up here and free for all, it means someone probably bought the DVD's and then put them up here. It's called sharing the wealth. I paid roughly £20 for each DVD and when I got onto a disk that had all 4/5 episodes of filler, I felt I had been cheated. It's not fair to make 25% of the product a side-show.
Now,what I am saying is that before you come out Guns a Blazin, like a sniper using b****cks for ammunition. Simpy try and think that not everyone here is getting this just for free. In fact most people on this site probably have a shelf full of Naruto products which didn't come free!!

No, fillers are not a waste. It's not all about fighting and fast-paced action. People need a break. These fillers develop characters and their stories. Characters that don't get too much screen time now in Shippuuden..

Dunno..I really like fillers, not more than the original, but since they are never going to be more than the original anime, I don't mind. I mean, I haven't seen a filler I don't like. They all give like a "little twist" to the storyline...like the Adventures of the Sea Arc.

So I in part agree. I just don't like it how they have nothing to do with the story or characters sometimes. I like it when it's about the story or develops a character. But when it's made simply to be made and buy time and get money, then I have an issue.
