If there was no filler there would just be long gaps of no show at all and it would only be broadcasted in peak seasons. The alternative is only having the show air for half the year. Shows make money through advertising and it is obviously popular enough to continue with the filler and keep interest in the show. Also, the show has to be kept a large enough distance behind the manga to keep interest otherwise the manga would be pointless

Whats not to like about the fillers. I dont have a problem with em

It's fine if you like them. I don't have an issue with that. If it brings people joy and and happiness to watch them, then great.
I,however, do not feel it does the show justice. I feel you go from this amazing fast-paced story to a random irrelevent setting which doesn't fit the series at all.
How in the name of Satan's arse did Naruto have the time to make a clone and go off and fight some random chick who then gets kidnapped who blablabla. He does all these things while the story is on a super tight time budget. It simply dissapoints me. That's all. Want more consistent plot.

No1: I love your name. Made me lol thnks :D

No2: You have raised very good points so thank you for your post +rep to ya.

I agree that it's a great way to make money and keep the show afloat and make for better quality shows and games etc.
My issue is that, with Naruto you have so many characters who are deep and interesting and it should be easy for them to make really good and interesting side-stories.
I do want fillers. But I want them to be good. I want to know how Gaara develops his Sabaku Soutaisou. I wanna know how it is that they got to the Jounin rank. I want to know all the little things that the main story arc doesn't have time for and I want it to be told tastefully.

I did not vote for No fillers. I voted character relevent ones only. Cause the plot is doing fine. We just kinda need to know more about our characters and less rubbish being shown of Naruto using Rasengan to pown some fat guy,one skinny effeminate type and another generic looking bad guy.

I dont know which episode u are talkin about but im sure not all of them are like that. Of course u have sum boring episodes like u have sum borin chapters in the manga, but I thin u should give it another chance in watch some of the one's u likelike.

Fillers I think are suppose so manga can go ahead, so the series dosn't catch up to the mangas, or even goes further in the history.

True buddy.

I agree. Would you rather not have ones that were plot relevent though?
If you had the choice.
Would you want ones that explain a bit about how it is that most of the Konoha ninja we like, are now jounin? Or would you rather Naruto went off to another land and saved someone from a terrible destiny that they can't avoid and fights some no-faced character who we never see again but for the 40 minutes they're onscreen are the most powerfull thing to come out of Naruto since madara?
I want the 1st one. I want it done well. I want to feel that, although the main plot stopped, I got to learn something good about how it is that Hinata became so awesome or how it is that the Yonbi got caught(in full detail).

I know they are necessary and I won't fault that. I just want them to be decent.

That's kinda what I mean. it was shown like 2 weeks ago and you don't remember it.
I do try once in a while. But I like reading the books more. I like owning the books too. Giving my £ for something I like is worth it.
I get ya broham, they're not all bad. But we don't need to know how Shika-Ino-Choji saved some old dude who is the oldest Genin in Konoha but somehow we've never heard of him before. Also in this weeks ep, it states that this old guy is the strongest Genin in Konoha...one word.....
Naruto. He is a Genin, he is of Konoha, he is the strongest Konoha Shinobi. But fillers don't care about this.
It's the crap that comes with some of the fillers that gets me.
Sorry If I offend anyone.

Ty for the compliment! Also, completely agree with you.

However, I do wonder how much creative licenses the writers of the show are given. It is quite possible they are not allowed to add any new story that may affect a character or plot in any ways and getting consent from kishi all the time would be a hassle for him.

I have noticed a couple fillers where I am surprised they were even allowed to do. For example, they did a whole arc about capturing a tailed beast that did not have a jinchuriki and correct me if I am wrong, but hasn't the last few chapters proved that every beast has a jinchuriki. Not to metion they gave naruto a new ability in the same arc. Some unison water attack with one of the frog summons that we have never seen again if I remember correctly. There is probably a large risk in writing good filler without constant consent.

I remember watching some of that and yeah it was the three tails. The big sea shell thingy. I don't recall what the crack was with that but I can remember that it at least included Tobi and I think Kisame? Maybe Deidara but not sure. It was something about it being loose but at the bottom of a lake. How no one had noticed it before is a mystery.
I think it got loose when the Mizukage was killed.

Its possible.

But speaking of tailed beasts arcs. I noticed something a couple weeks ago I was meaning to ask about. They have recently been showing all of the jinchuriki and one in particular (dude with the bubbles) had a whole filler arc. Sort of curious if they were told who he was and his abilities when they wrote it, or if the filler actually influenced the manga and they were forced to use his look and abilities from the arc.

There are two types of fillers. One is a load of rubbish, those are the ones that Kishi doesn't make. And the ones I don't like.
The others are ones that Kishi is involved in and were originally meant to be part of the main story arc. The story arcs were too long to have more episodes and the extra's weren't put into it. so they were meant to be Pseudo-story arcs.
Not Filler but not quite story either. The ones you are talking about are pseudo-story arcs, not fillers.
Also, about the bubble guy. Naruto did meet him, which is odd cause Naruto doesn't recognise him. Consistency fail in my eyes. Still though, he might just not be willing to talk as he knows he's dead.

Didn't realize he works on some and not others.

It happens with large scale production. He would oversee it all but will give the rights to make eps that are off-story. Those are your fillers and are used to buy time.

I read this sometime ago and kinda forgot about it.

well fillers are surely reckless.... but on the other hand,
they refresh ones feelings for the naruto characters that are not given attention!!

this present series of fillers tho seem a waste of time , but instead they develop a feeling for affection for thoses characters who have a role in upcoming war!!!

take the example of the filler "sai's day off"...it refereshed sai's part as his role will come in the warwhen he faces his brother., this filler told us furthur about sai and how he feels!!!

similarly the filler ""ino shika cho tri"" refreshed ones feelings for them and their teamwork as furthur rheir role will come in the war.... the war! this filler told one that they are training hard and improving and donot give up!!!, same is for the filler "ahh my hero lady tsunade"

jux think on what i've said and mut watch em!!

I hear ya. We've seen hundreds of episodes about the shika-ino-choji trio. Don't need another. I previously stated that some of them are ok. It's the crap in them which is totally inconsistent which irritates me.

Haha I love how lswhyte says he pays and all the "DONT COMPLAIN BROSEPH IZZ FREE" haters run away.

I agree with you. An anime is created secondarily to please fans and primarily to make profit (you don't think TV Tokyo has a contract?) They're just hurting their own profitability by doing this. I understand fillers if they need time to distance the manga or whatever. But 6 months of fillers is nonsense. It's a blatant attempt to drag out the profitability of the series before it ends.

Most fans will come back. But some won't. Even though these fillers are ending in January, I'm not excited about them like I normally am. Because I know now they'll do 1 great fight arc, and then we'll go back to at least 3-4 months of fillers. It's taken the fun of Naruto away for at least one fan, and I suspect others.
