Yondaime/4th Kazekage had Magnet release and was able to control gold. Sandaime/3rd kazekage had magnet release and was able to control Iron. Theoretically possible that by controlling one you can control the other.

I guess he already master it! and surpass 3rd Kazekage.
It's too early to say he's mastered it. He only used it once and it didn't show us much control other than the fact he mixed it with his sand which he could have done in a number of ways.

However, Because Gaara doesn't use magnet release and only uses his chakra to control sand, it's possible that he can in fact control more than just sand by simply infusing his chakra into it. His nature is wind, which can allow great control over objects over long distances.

So, Gaara has already shown an aptitude for using the gold dust which means he has magnet release, which in turn(as far as I know) means he can use Iron or whichever metals correspond.
Eerm ... i don't get it? Why would he have magnet release?!?
First of all - real gold is not affected by magnets. And he didn't control the gold sand at all. It was just encapsulated in his clone.

So, the 3rd kazekage is still the strongest of the kazekage's, this is mostly due to the fact that he had the Iron sand right.

My question I guess is, Will Gaara start using Metal Sand?
i do think he will use iron, but u should explain this,i can't see the connection

If you read further you'd see I do kinda take back the magnet release thing.
not that it matters.

There are conditions under which gold can be effected by magnetism. (though not to any large degree)
That however is not my argument. 4th Kazekage had Magnet release and controlled gold. Doesn't need to make sense, but that's how in the series he controls gold.
Gaara does show some promise in that he may have controlled the gold, fact was he made a clone of gold and sand, he didn't just have it in all his sand. Which may mean he knew how to control it. Also his father had magnet release, so why wouldn't he?
I also stated that it's possible that Gaara doesn't need magnet release to use things like gold or Iron, as he currently possesses control over the sand using only his chakra.

I have updated the thread intro.

Gaara isn't using a magnet release to control the sand so could maybe control other material by simply infusing it with his chakra.
As gold is not magnetic, it's possible that Gaara and his father simply controlled it through chakra infusion(however it would appear that his father used the magnet release which makes no sense as gold=not magnetic)
If Gaara does show the ability to use gold efficiently and prove magnet release, then yes he will be able to control metals.

Gaara will stick with regular sand...
Regular sand is faster lighter and more versatile.
I do not disagree. I think Kishi will make Gaara stick to regular sand as he seems keen on keeping characters very specific.
however, it would not kill Gaara to have metals in his sand and create a much stronger defense and offence. Still though sand is lighter than metal but gold has a lighter specific gravity than sand which is why the Kazekage(4th) could slow it down.

Gold dust is used with magnet release and so is the iron sand but Gaara did not manipulate the gold dust itself he just stored some in his sand clone. So it's doubtful if he posses the KG or not since they are not always passed down by blood. It would be awesome though.

I made a thread like this a while back :D. I would like to see him get it but as people have said I don't think kishi would change him from using sand to some form of metal this late in the game. Also you keep talking about using or manipulating the density of things, didnt he already do that against kimimaro. He used the dense sand he crushed up in the ground I think

As far as we know he didn't control it. Not arguing but I'm just saying he may have had control over it. Which frankly wouldn't be impossible.

I do agree though guys, nice as it would be, Don't think It's gonna Happen.
