Gaara's Iron Sand

So, the 3rd kazekage is still the strongest of the kazekage's, this is mostly due to the fact that he had the Iron sand right.

So, Gaara has already shown an aptitude for using the gold dust which means he may have magnet release, which in turn(as far as I know) means he can use Iron or whichever metals correspond.

Gaara's father had magnet release & was able to control Gold(which isn't magnetic), the 3rd Kazekage had magnet release and was able to control Iron. Gaara has wind release and can control sand. Theoretically, he should be able to control other materials by infusing them with his chakra.

My question I guess is, Will Gaara start using Metal Sand?

I am aware that Gaara could simply have held the gold( ) which was already mixed in his sand but the fact he utilized it leads me to believe he can control it. Also, it stands to reason that he would inherit that skill from his dad,the 4th.

Glad to say that the sand is controlled by Gaara. Only the defensive sand moves of his mothers will. It isn't her that makes the sand attack or that gives him the power to do so. So, the power is Gaara's and his alone. It seems the kazekage's all have magnet release, not a long shot to say Gaara can also do this.

I know, sadly that's what I think too. He might however change the composition of his sand and make it so it contains much denser minerals and metals. By definition sand cannot contain metals but can include glass and rock.
Many of the densest metals though come from rocks...so there's something.

Gaara would quickly become a much stronger character in the Naruto series if he could utilise this Magnet release to it's full potential. Would even easily make the top 10.

Golden Sand wasn't a magnetic release jutsu--gold isn't magnetic. Gaara controls the sand as well as he did when he still had the tailed beast, because the village went through so much effort to teach him how to controll it, and by extention, the sand itself. He just doesn't have as much chakra now. The automatic defence is coming from the part of his mothers will that was stored inside him--not the tailed beast. As far as I'm conserned, Gaara is just as powerful (okay, maby less) as he is without the Biju.

No dudes...Gaara did not manipulate the gold dust...He merely hid some of the gold dust he had obtain during the fight against his father. He then kept the gold dust within his own regular sand as part of a tactic to defeat the Mizukage... ~_~

Unless it has been shown Gaara has manipulated Gold Dust in the form of needles? offensive attacks? defensive attacks? anything at all with Gold Dust? If not, then no...He does not have Magnet Release...All he did was just hid some within his own sand...

Gold by itself is not magnetic but if you mix gold with 20% Iron atoms will become Magnetised as long as they are kept cold. Also gold will be a little magnetic if contained inside a magnetic field...not likely to happen. Lol

But good point. The Gold was not likely controlled by magnet release. In which case, how the fudge did Yondaime Kazekage control it? Either way, Gaara has the potential to use magnet release in so far as the 3rd learnt it by himself,why not Gaara.

I think Gaara is actually stronger now than before. Also, bar that one time against the leaf,Gaara has never used the Ichibi's Chakra as he's always wanted to use his own power.

Fair commentry and I will agree. There is too much doubt to be had as to his ability to control gold.
The only reason I stated it is because Gaara showed an affinity for it's use.
He didn't mix the gold with all his sand, so must have had some control over it's dispersal. If not it would have been in all his sand and not just the clone he made up to catch the Jokey Boy.

When Gaara mixed the gold into his sand, he didn't mix it into all the sand, just the clone. Which shows a level of control over the gold. It isn't however magnet release as gold is not a magnetic substance ordinarily.

So it's safe enough to assume that Gaara may have some control over Gold.
