ok it was a genjutsu and when itachi first met up with saskue that was also a clone as he said to meet him at the uchia hideout after that.

the one with naruto was shusi eye. The one with saskue was a genjutsu clone that saskue easily saw through. not a crow that can create its own genjutsu

In the desert I can see Gaara winning against Itachi, outside of it, eh probably not. However, whoever says that pre-MS Sasuke could beat current Gaara looses all credibility on my part, that is a pretty ridiculous assumption.

lol even in the desert Gaara couldnt beat him... Itachi is a battle genius (same level as Shikamaru and Minato) and has a ton of abilities on his side for instance his water clones would just kill the sand and then hed kill Gaara

Gaara is smart too bro, and give me a break, there is way too much sand in the desert for him to saturate all of it, hes not Kisame or Nidaime. Gaara has a VERY good chance at beating Itachi in the desert.

All he has to do his create a giant sand wall between him and Itachi and now he's going to have to guess where behind it he is, mean while he can crush or just suffocate Itachi underneath the sand.

assuming where they fight, in a desert, gaara has high chances of winning, anywhere else, Itachi wins. But Gaara always looks at his opponents, and just by looking at Itachi is enough to get him in an illusion.

any water jutsus can destroy gaara's sand moves and itachi is able to use genjutsus at really long range, it was stated in the manga.

All of Itachi's genjutsu's are short range? I thought all you had to do was look into his eyes and you were caught...

u dont have to look into his eyes ...he used his finger to cast genjutsu on naruto in a second ..if gaara is caught he is done ..but itachis experience with his abilities is enough but can be a good fight !!

Oonoki's help to pull Madara out Susano is not necessary to catch the feets of his opponent.Do you guys really think a bit? What he did is to make it lighter. Gaara did it against Kimimaro ALONE and they were on the grass.So yes,Gaara can pull him out.He doesn't need a dessert.

i cannot believe that i am actually doing this =/
i watched a clip of the kage summit fight (note, i haven't watched the anime since the nora arc).. and i found out gaara's personal sand is fast as the black flames =/
but this still wont change my views that gaara can defeat itachi. gaara may block the black flames but he wont be able to avoid it or move away from it.
