At first we thought in order to activate the ms, you must kill your best friend.
As itachi said to sasuke. We can now safely say that, that is false. But in order to activate it somebody close to you must die. Therefore this also somewhat explains how kakashi got it.

From finding out the truth about itachi, he didnt kill shisui, shisui killed himself, thus activating itachi's ms.

From what we know about shisui, we can safely assume that he got the ms from somebody close to him dying.

Similarly as we saw from sasuke, he activated the ms due to itachi's death. Somebody close to him dying.

In the link below itachi is basically telling sasuke that the so many uchiha's have gained the ms from killing their friends, just like he did in the first link above. Notice that in both links itachi was pretending to sasuke.

From what we know so far in order to gain it somebody close to you must die. In the link above itachi said many many gained it by killing their close friends. Now this is false, from what ive showed you so far. The way to obtain it is to lose somebody close to you.

Now back in the day, when war was upon eveybody, the uchiha included. War as we know, there are casualties on both sides. Now from what we know in order to get the ms, you somebody close to you must die. If there war was and somebody close to an uchiha died, they would have to have awakened the ms. As itachi claimed many activated it, but he lied about how to gain it to sasuke. We all know the reasons why.

Now from what we know it seems like alot of uchiha activated it without their will. Given you examples in itachi, sasuke, shisui. Now what if an uchiha didnt want to activate the ms, surely he wouldnt have a choice because from what know about howto activate it.

This is where the curse comes in. We know that there are advantages to the ms. Im not going to talk about, only focussing on the disadvantages.

Its main disadvantage is blindness. Imagine if a uchiha didnt want the ms, but due effects of a close person dying they would activate it. They now have to deal with going blind, from something they had no control over.

Now desperate times call for desperate measures. After youve gained the ms without your will, you then go blind slowly even if you hardly use it. The only way to gain back your sight is if you transplant your siblings who also has the ms eyes.

We can dispute whether madara forcefully took izuna's eyes or whether izuna gave it to him. From we know of tobi im not sure, but il go with his words for now, although ill also include what itachi said.

As weve seen desperate times call for desperate measures. Sasuke at first didnt want to transplant itachi's eyes, but after nearly going blind he had to. This further proves my point that he didnt even activate the ms at will and yet now he is desperate to regain his sight.

Now we have seen that the only way to gain the ems is to transplant your sibling who also has the ms eyes. Now what if you dont have a sibling?. Or what if you do have a sibling but they dont have the ms. They just have a regular sharigan.

Basically after gaining the ms without your will, you have to transplant your siblings with the ms eyes or else you are bound to go blind. If you do succeed your sibling surely dies (izuna). If your sibling is already dead then you are lucky (sasuke).

If you dont have a sibling or you siblings doesnt have the ms, you would surely go blind even if you didnt want the ms

Kakashi Killed Obito by accident when he used Chidori and made rocks crush him. later when kakashi became strong enough he activated MS..

Itachi said in that panel you just posted that he help Shisui erase himself after Danzo took one of his eyes.. meaning that Itachi helped kill Shisui of his own will.

Sasuke did kill Itachi, when he found out that Itachi was only protecting him, he realized that Itachi is his closes friend.. giving him MS.. so your info is flawed..

You are incorrect. Itachi death was the source of Sasuke awakening his mangekyou. MS is not awakened when you just come to a realization inside your head like you suggest.

I disagree, the Mangekyo Sharingan is a blessing, it brings light and power.

So you would say that the increase in power is a blessing. But no matter what, the light you speak of fades into blindness...ITS FACT. I do not beleive you can consider something a blessing if it provides harm to your body over time.

just because you have ms does not mean your gonna go blind. itachi clearly says if you over use the ms then you will risk going blind,thus losing the light within your eyes. you can have it and use it when you have nothing else you can do except reveal it in battle. or you can have it and never use it. just because you have it, doesn't mean anything, its all on how you use it.

like madara overused his ms, because he is arrogant and depended on his eyes. itachi on the other hand did not abuse his power, because he understood his power. madara did not understand his own power, so he became greedy and wanted his brothers eyes.

ms is unlocked when something truly tragic happens.

Seriously? Have you not read the posts proving that no matter what, once you activate MS, the eyes start a slow disent into blindness. The more you use MS the FASTER the process happens.

The fact remains. Awaken MS-you start to go blind PERIOD. To avoid going blind, an Uchiha must obtain and implant the MS of his sibling inside himself to awaken EMS. EMS is the same thing as MS without the side effect of blindness.

I am really disappointed in your knowlege of the Uchiha's Sharingan, especially since you have Uchiha in your name. U_U

The Uchiha's unsaitable thirst for power. Even since the beginning of time when the Eldest brother became jealous that he did not get chosen to succeed his father. That older brother created lineage for the Uchiha, passing along his desire for power to his kinsman.

I believe Tobi and several other characters allude to this fact, escpecially when explaining the history of the So6P.

My main point, Itachi was not the only one to allude to the Uchiha constant trying to better and make their MS last longer.

We don't exactly know how Kakashi got his MS, I don't remember anyone that close to him dying to unlock it. I always thought that since he unlocked it it only has to a cause of great emotion to unlock it. So anything that a huge amount of emotion. ( Just a speculation).

I agreed, MS is a curse indeed, I mean battling your own personal demons on wether you kill someone really close to you or you don't, and then you go blind by using it too much... and then, to gain EMS, to assault your own brother for his eyes, when he is alive, is messed up and even worse when assaulting your brother when is dead to steal his eyes U_U, is here is one thought though, why didn't Madara gave his eyes to his younger brother and viceversa, then both would've EMS :shrug:

itachi fully admitted killing shisui he helped get rid of his body. technically he still killed him. and when tobi told sasuke the history he said in that era only madara and his brother had the MS and they gained it by killing an uchiha aswell to awaken it i dont agree with your thread buddy

People I bet most of you noticed how the Jubi has the sharingan kinda eye so I was wondering is it possible to presume that maybe just maybe the reason for the MS to have such a drastic effect is because some of the Jubi's chakra stayed in the so6p and was passed to the older son who got the so6p eyes and spiritual energy cause the so6p had the rennigan not the sharingan as we've seen and when he controled the Jubi we saw the renningan appear in the Jubi's eye just like when the sharingan appeared sasuke controled manda with his sharingan or when madara controled the 9 tails with his EMS
think about it the sharigan or better yet the MS or EMS seem sinnester just like the Jubi
