Well if it was filler then I could always make the argument that it is non-canon.
However I won't do that, instead I will just say that it is irrelevant to this thread. Asuma's abilities outclass Sakura's plain and simple.
He is faster than her, has wind and fire elements, has trench blades which he can extend several feet in either direction, and other jutsus. Sakura can only punch him, but if she tries to get close she will get cut in half because his trench blades can extend quite a bit. If you don't believe me I will refer you to the chapter where Naruto talks to Asuma about wind element.
Sakura's undderated, she's got he-man strength, pretty good dodging skillz, and is well versed in poisons, I think that Asuma would be done after one cherry blossom impact, I could be slightly underestimating my boy Asuma, but I think Sakura can win

Not to be a jerk but Sakura has almost no dodging skills. Do you remember how easily a nearly blind Sasuke grabbed her and man-handled her? Sure she couldn't stab him but that doesn't mean that she wanted to get stabbed either.
C'mon, you know you can't bring anything concerning Uchiwally-wally, and Sakura is just dumb when it comes to Sasuke, but I dunno, if both are fully focused with intent to kill, I think it could go either way, Asuma should he win would swear off women after the fight was over, but I think Sakura has a better chance than Asuma

How? Once she gets in close range she takes an extended wind blade to the face and dies. She can't get in close enough because of that, and the fact that Asuma is faster. She can't simply overcome the speed and skill barrier unless she were to get super lucky.
true, but she'd pop off the fight with one of those canyon clearing haymakers, and Sakura did do a little work on her own fighting those puppets, if she can survive sasori's hundred puppets with blades coming from every orifice, she'll be alright against two chakra blades

It in no way is the same thing, especially since Chiyo was controlling her. Her reaction times are terrible. Just bad, Chiyo controlled Sakura because Sakura had the power but lacked any skill whatsoever to use it.
But it isn't the same thing because a puppet does not move like a ninja, and the more puppets they have, the less control they have over them. That is why Chiyo with her 10 puppets went to town on Sasori's 100
You make a good point, and you're not trollin' hard to drive your point through, I am starting to see Asuma come out on top, but I can't just count Sakura-chan out, I still think my girl Sakura has a fighting chance

Everyone has a chance against anyone else but I just don't see Sakura winning. I try not to troll or post fanboy responses, although I have been known to be wrong before and I am not averse to changing my mind.
Sakura has no chance of winning against Asuma. I can't believe this thread has even gone this long.
Yes, Sakura is heavily trained to dodge all attacks. But that doesn't mean she's fast enough to go head to head with a well seasoned Jounin like Asuma. Not to mention Asuma is a close-combat fighter, which puts this further in Asuma's favor. I'd think he's experienced enough and mobile enough not to get hit with Sakura's punches.
Sakura doesn't have many offense skills. All she has is her very basic taijutsu and brute strength.
Asuma on the other hand is a skilled close- range fighter and weapon specialist, i.e., his chakra blades. He also has proficiency in Fire and Wind techniques. Sakura has absolutely nothing to counter this.
These are just the facts. Plain and simple.

Did Ashton Kutcher make this thread????.......Because I feel like I'm being punked. There is no way in hell-o-kitty land Sakura is winning this. Asuma was a high level Jounin for starters, Something only a few of Naruto's generation of Shinobi have achieved, not including Sakura. What is her defense against Asuma's fire and wind elemental jutsu??? Poison?? He would simply blow it back at her.......I'm definitely being punked lol

filler. and i explained sakura doesnt JUST have super strength. we saw this in sasori fight and when she knocked out lee sai and kiba.

As a million others have pointed out; Sakura had Chiyo on her side. Chiyo controlled her most of the fight, she had info on Sasori, she had antidotes for his poison attacks and dammit Sakura had Sasori's own grandmother fighting by her side.
How much more intel could you imagine to get before facing off an opponent?
Oh, plus, Sasori could have won. He just chose not to, in the end.
