Ninja: Someone trained to fight for their land. They mostly fight in the shadows and specialize in assassinations. In the narutoverse, there are ranks of ninja and the higher the rank, the more risky missions you preform.
Chakra: Something used to create ninjutsu and genjutsu. Ninjas use this on almost all missions. Some ninja cannot control their chakra or dont even have any. (Ex. Rock Lee)
Ninjutsu: Ninjutsu is used when someone can control their chrakra and use it to their advantage. They can use it to clone themselves for example.
Elements: Every ninja has a charkra affinity. That affinity takes on either Katon, Suiton, Raiton, Fuuton, or Doton. Most Jounin have more than one affinity.
Elemental Ninjutsu: Elemental Ninjutsu combines both ninjutsu and your element(s). By adding your chakra affinity to a ninjutsu, it becomes an elemental ninjutsu. For example, rasengan is pure compressed chakra while rasenshuriken has added fuuton chakra.

Now, water. What is water to you and how do you think it can be used in a fight? What will be its main use? Will it be attacking, restraining, defending, supporting, escaping? What?

Also, its weak against what elemental release and strong against what?

Water is the element of tranquility and calmness. It can be used to trap multiple enemys or to conceal yourself. Its main use will be restraining or supporting.

Its weak against Raiton and strong against Doton and Katon.

However, such a huge wave will also not be easily stopped by an A-Rank fire ball for example. The counters must obey some sort of logic and the jutsu itself bears a great role on it. Never simply shoot an A-Rank jutsu against another A-Rank. Always think about the jutsu in themselves before making your counter.

*I concentrate on keeping the sword stable and firm. I run over to the tree with that still in my mind and cut the tree with all of my strength. As soon as I hit the tree I shoot out more chakra into my hand.*

*I dispell the technique and walk over to the water. I then force chakra into my hands. I put my hands out and visualize an orb of water. I then push chakra out of my hand and form an orb of water.*
