We do know how Kisame gets his chakra reserves from his samehada. WIthout it, he can still beat some of his opponents, but the sameada is his main unit to have the chakra reserves.

Seriously you are either extremely stupid or trolling. Nobody is talking about chakra reserve and also kisame has been noted to have one of the biggest chakra reserves in naruto without samahada

What are you talking about. As i said kishi had to have weaken kisame plus took away his samahada for gai to beat him. Even after this he tanked gai's strongest attacks and its his own tech he used to kill himself
Ok.

For Kisame vs Gai 1st round. Kisame can be seen more powerful than Gai without any powering up or stuff like that.

However, on their 2nd and final round. Gai and Kisame boosted their power to the max, and Gai beats him in FULL POWER.

Sage of 6 Paths first obviously by reputation. If Kisame was that strong he wouldn't have been killed by Might Guy who no one believes is the strongest shinobi in the manga.

samehada doesn't have any chakra(or maybe a little).it just a sword or maybe creature. it absorbs chakra , very fast just like preta path did. as Karin said, his chakra level were on another level man. his chakra level maybe at 6tails level.
i would say kisame is asura and preta path combined as one person, 1/3 of nagato.. hehe that's how he is very strong.

I agree, he's a real beast. Naruto/jiraiya levels of durability and even more strength and chakra. it's a real shame we didn't see his best techniques succeeding at least once before gai beat him :(

Kisame was a powerful member of Akatsuki who successfully captured the Four-Tails' jinchūriki Rōshi by himself, despite noting his target's exceptional powers. Though a difficult task, by his own admission, Kisame merely complained that he was "a bit tired".[8] He also claimed that he was the best in the Akatsuki at capturing targets alive as seen when he was able to capture Rōshi alive leaving him only "on the brink of death". As a member of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist, Kisame is one of the most powerful shinobi ever produced within Kirigakure; in fact, he was able to kill his former master, who was said to be a Seven Swordsmen member of the generation that was the strongest within the village's history, as well as despite Samehada being in the superior's hands at the time. Nagato also noted he had an unusually large amount of chakra, even by Akatsuki standards.[9] Kisame has also shown a keen intellect in battle, an example of which is deducing the nature and tactics of Killer B's attack on their first encounter.

Anyways

Physical Prowess and Chakra Edit
Kisame breaks free of the stocks.

Unlike his partner Itachi, Kisame preferred direct physical combat, with which he has repeatedly been shown to be very proficient and dangerous. Generally while fighting, he combines strong taijutsu strikes with powerful slashes from Samehada. He has been seen displaying astonishing raw speed and immense physical strength, making it highly difficult for his opponents to directly overpower him, as shown from overpowering Might Guy, a powerful taijutsu master, during their battle. A single punch from Kisame was able to smash Might Guy to the bottom of the lake he had created and displaced the water around the area. He also managed to overpower another skilled melee-weapon user, Asuma Sarutobi, by using only the tip of Samehada (wielded with one hand), against Asuma's two blades, which he held overhead using his body as extra support.[15] Kisame managed to survive a usually one-hit instant kill technique from Guy, and retained enough strength to break free of his restraints even though Yamato was suppressing his chakra, showing not just powerful raw strength, but also great endurance.

Kisame had an unusually large amount of chakra, even by Akatsuki standards.[16] Karin, upon sensing Kisame, stated she had never seen so much chakra in one place.[17] Even when he fought at 30% power in one instance,[18] Neji compared his chakra supply to that of Naruto.[19] Chōjūrō claims that Kisame is a "Tailed Beast without a Tail" (尾を持たない尾獣, O o Motanai Bijū; English TV "Tailless Tailed Beast"), due to his inhuman chakra level and combination with Samehada.[20]

Even without Samehada, Kisame has been shown to absorb chakra while he is in a water source. Aoba Yamashiro discovered it when he used his Secret Technique Stone Needles in an attempt to paralyse Kisame, who instead just sucked the chakra through the threads and exhausted him.[21] He can even steal chakra from Samehada by simply grabbing onto it.[22]

THis info tells how a fanboy loves his Kisame.

I completely agree with your thread.

And in my opinion Gai was the perfect opponent for Kisame since Gais ultimate technique did not require chakra, if his ultimate attack was something made of chakra, Kisames technique would have absorbed Gais chakra and grown faster and stronger as said by kisame himself here.

and we know Gais technique wasn't a chakra blast/chakra requiring tech as kisame says it himself here.

Sorry to burst your bubble but when kisame attacked his former master, he wasn't ready or awared of the attack. It is said that kisame took an advantage of his master lowering his guard. They didn't fight evenly. He betrayed everyone, and his village.

Not saying he's not strong, just pointing out some facts.U_U
