Like I said he unlocked the rinnegan shortly before his death so he couldn't have known all of the abilities

and y cant sakura and tsunade break meteors? Lol remember when she broke that big boulder in front of the akatsuki hideout?

that was nothing, so I don't see why she cant do the same to a meteor

the reason sakura cant break the meteors is the boulder was just sitting there and the boulder wasnt as big, plus, if the meteor is falling from space, the speed and velocity would increase its weight greatly, sakura would be crushed under its power

he awakened rinnegan shortly before his death but that doesnt mean he doesnt know its abilities, plus as kabuto said, that was a hypothesis, not a proven fact.

it might not have been shown under his control, but the fact that he can freely summon it shows he can control it
