i don't believe shikamaru can beat anyone decent in a fight 1 on 1 i mean he' intelligent but he's more of a leader of a squad then just a fighter

his shadow possesion is easy to dodge when you are looking for it and as soon as sai is in the air its game over shika can't do anything

idk if you've realised, but shikamaru needs time to plan and think...he seems to function best with a team/partner, am betting if he is deprived of such time to think, which sai would undoubtably notice, he would lose U_U

I don't like Sai much, but I give him this one. For one Sai is one of the smarter characters in the series, and I really don't think he'd give Shikamaru the time he needs to come up with a plan. Not only that, but I don't think Shikamaru can buy that time himself.

you are DRUGGED he can beat MOST ppl with his shadow sewing. lots of ppl CANT attack while dodging it. so gimme another one. and thats the only thing u have. sai can fly. if you havent noticed. shadows are still shown even when ur in air.
