To repeated what other people have said, Danzo is definitely not a douche. He did what had to be done on a principle of "if the ends justify the means". If it wasn't for him doing what he did Konoha wouldn't have been as powerful.

I will go with Danzo...I think a person who chicken's out during a crisis situation is a douche(invasion of pain)...and yeah....i dont buy his reason of staying away in hiding for the betterment of Konoho when his comrades were fighting hard in the battle...

The way Danzo was portrayed during the pain arc took away a lot of his credibility...
