How can you say Itachi was good? He was only good to Sasuke, but the plan he made up was bound to leave sasuke mad. But killing your mother, father, best friend and girfriend is not being good, whatever the reason. Not good as a person.

Although we may say he was a good ninja, as he was ready to follow any order from his superiors.
