Pretending to be evil? how does that make him badass idiot? He ended up dying accomplishing next to nothing. He has no significance whatsoever. In the end he betrayed Aizen and the Soul Society and got killed trying to stop him which he could have done so before Aizen transformed.. Fail.

1) How does it not? Please name one more person who was able to fool Aizen for over 100 years?

2) He actually killed Aizen. Only the Hogyoku revived him. The only two people that actually know something about the Hogyoku are Aizen and Kisuke.

3) Gin's purpose was not to "stop" Aizen. It was to make him pay for what he did to Rangiku. However Gin is smart, he actually accounted for himself dying hence why he said Ichigo did not have the resolve to win during the fake Karakura town arc. Therefore Gin thought if he didn't succeed he would leave his hopes with Ichigo.
