After Drake dropped So Far Gone in 09, a slew of emotionally-conscious rappers appeared like Wale, KiD CuDi, B.o.B., J Cole, etc. I'm not saying they're stealing his swag, just that he opened the doors for different music other than Gangsta rap or Hardcore rappers to come back on the rise. And J Cole sounds depressing to me. Drake is emotional in his music as well but a majority of the Cole verses I've heard just sound depressing to me.
