Tobi's identity could have easily been found out

This is in response to the byakugan thread. That tech would'nt have worked but here's what would.

The Joint Shinobi army simply needed to perform one Edo Tensei: Kisame.

They were about to find out. They had subjected him to mind probing while alive, when his will was not even his own. If he had been an edo summon, the edo's power would have forced Kisame to obey the tech holder's will. That, coupled with mind control would have shown the true face of Tobi to the Joint Shinobi Army.


As we all know, dna is needed to perform edo tensei:

The Shinobi army had Kisame's dna all over the place:

That was all his blood. All they need is someone who can perfom the tech, then use the edo's binding power plus mind controlling techs to see the real face of Tobi whic Kisame has seen. Simple, ain't it?

But instead of doing it way around, we can easily confirm with Byakugan (Hinata's since she already saw Tobi once) and compare tha chakra signature with Edo Madara and confirm that they are different first (to rule out Tobi is Zetsu clone theory) and then we can go as you said though no one other than Orochimaru and Kabuto are known to perform edo tensei... But good theory dude...

Thanks yea i had kakashi in mind as a candidate to perform the tech too

Kabuto said only the second hokage, orchimaru and himself knew how the edo tensei worked

But there have been so many edos the shinobis have fought/sealed, i'm sure there are some in the ranks who have an idea how to perform the tech.

Besides, i'm sure the 2nd hokage left some records in the scrolls behind.

so you cant tell the second hokage must have had his own guards just like the fought
and they must be able yo use it or have an idea how the jutsu works

Well, forbidden jutsu usually make the good guys go butthurt about using it.

So in a sense of logic yes, but good guys tend to have misplaced and idiotic morals.

There is one major flaw I find with this. For one, they wouldn't know Kisame would know what Tobi really looks like because of that fact majority of the Akatsuki didn't get to see his face or even know him as the boss. And second, I think from the moment Tobi removed his mask he placed Kisame in a genjutsu to make him believe he was really the Mizukage. He acts suprised both times when Tobi removes his mask to him. That isn't normal. Plus viens appear around his eyes.

Also notice how Tobi tried to show his face to Sasuke even though Sasuke wouldn't have recognized him anyway. And then Itachi made it a point to make him automatically activate Amateratsu if he ever showed his sharingan to Sasuke, why? Because he would manipulate Sasuke with it like he did Kisame. Sounds strange I know since Sasuke went up against Itachi's tsukuyomi but there has to be something to it for Itachi to go the lengths he did to prevent Tobi from showing his eyes to Sasuke.

I don't think you read/understood the manga with respect to this. Of course they knew Kisame knew, see the link i gave in the opening post of my thread, Tobi did'nt have a mask on and was about to step in the light.....those images were memories of Kisame viewed by the genjutsu squad like Inoichi saw the mind of the captured rain ninja before the Pain invasion.
Kisame only acts surprised when Tobi says he's Madara, not before.
The only reason Itachi did that was so that Tobi would'nt convince Sasuke to join Akatsuki.
