Anime
I don't mean at the moment I mean back before the fillers started in the anime.
For me it was Manga and has been ever since I started reading it.

Well I would rather watch the Anime but the Manga is much more reliable plus is doesnt have fillers.

Agreed. I watched all of part one in the anime and it was good, but reading all of Shippuden in the manga is awesome. I absolutely prefer the manga to the anime.

Better? Neither.

Prefer? Anime, even with fillers. Two of my favorite episodes are filler from pre-Timeskip - it's the ones with the "sea monster" that is really a girl who's been experimented on. But the manga is good for looking ahead, and getting additional information.
