when did you see the fourth fighting????? beside i am not comparing naruto with his father my point naruto is genius too like his father and for example i said he had said that he had fought with pain quite intellectually, and though he hadn't the way to maintain the sage mode how jiraya did he made his own way very cleverly.......
I'm not saying he's not smart because he is, but comparing him to his father intellectual wise is ridiculous right now. Minato, Itachi, Shikamaru, and Shikaku are all still way above him in that category. Minato was able to come up with a plan to counter Tobi's teleportation in seconds.
He also planned for the future extremely well knowing Tobi would become a huge threat so he decided to seal the fox in his own son knowing he would need that power.
surely the fourth was.but friend just think about it he was then the hokage and he was experienced a lot isn't so? that why you cannot compare his intellect with naruto.....may the time when naruto will become hokage he will become more wise than his father...he's growing right

Being hokage doesn't make you a genius. Look Jiraiya even praised Minato's intellect saying he was a rare genius born once a decade at best. Naruto will definitely become smarter the more he grows and the more experienced he gets, but all i'm trying to say is that he's not up there with the big timers like Shikamaru, Shikaku, Minato, and Itachi in intellect right now.

i never see naruto do that while we see minato fight with tobi and make the right decision in a flash
dude you got the wrong idea i am not saying that being hokage makes a person smart or genius, but he was a lot elder than naruto at that time which made a lot experienced that made him smart indeed. when naruto will reach that age he may become a smarter person..........
By the reasoning of the OP, I would say in that case, Konohamaru is the true genius.
He mastered Rasengan younger than Naruto and without the advantage of being able to summon many, many clones to practice. Wait.. Naruto didn't use Kage Bunshin to perfect the Rasengan, but even still, I think Konohamaru was younger.

what are you saying dude didn't you saw how did he fought with pain he made all of his clone transformed into rock. and don't you remember how did he fought zabuza along with sasuke and what a amazing plan he made by transforming into a suriken......

that was not amazing at all since he already know about deva path ability
and about that shuriken stuff it was naruto and sasuke plan and yet that was not impressive.
waht makes to think that konohamaru mastered rasengan earlier than naruto???? when naruto taght him he might be at naruto's age.
and if consider your thought it can be proved that not only naruto is a good shinobi but a great teacher also....may be that makes him genius/

Consider Naruto's level of intel, every Sensei he's had had to dumb down explanations to the lowest level possible so that he can at least get a grip on it. Konohamaru at the time wasn't even a Genin.

naruto came up w/ the plan sasuke just help in executing it that was impressive for a fresh genin. Naruto knowing about pain ability is not the problem but the counter he use against them.
